The first month of 2024 is officially over, and we even made it slightly longer by delaying the monthly recap for a few days. Why did we do that? We don’t know. It’s one of those things that January does to people, making us feel like it’s never going to end. But it did, and here are some events that marked the month of January.
In January, Vermont officially opened its mobile sports betting market. Vermonters now have a chance to place their sports bets online with sports betting platforms DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics Sportsbook, which got licences to operate in the state. Governor Phil Scott expects the legal online sports betting market to generate up to $7 million in revenue in the first year only.
Another US state, Mississippi, could legalise online betting in July 2024 if House Bill 271 becomes law. Democratic Rep. Cedric Burnett brought the bill forward, and the state has a Mobile-Online Sports Betting Task Force that released a report that supports the legalisation of online sports betting and indicates the benefits to the state’s finances.
January was also a month of milestones. The iGaming software provider 1spin4win released its 100th slot called Golden Joker 100 Hold and Win. The ambitious slot provider was established less than three years ago, and the fact that it reached this milestone so quickly speaks a ton about the team’s passion for casino games.
BetFury introduced its own NFT Lootbox system early on when NFTs became a huge hit and has since awarded players some amazing NFTs. The latest win came to a lucky punter who won an NFT worth $76,545. It is an art #5663 from the legendary Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. The drop chance was 0.77%, which makes the win even more spectacular.
Another big win happened when a NineCasino player won €3,760,840.37 after making a €0.20 wager! The lucky Brazilian player was spinning the reels of the Fortune Factory Studios Wolf Blaze WOWPot! Megaways when they scored a x20,008,157.44 multiplier for a massive win.
Congratulations to both lucky winners!
Our forum was a bit quieter place than usual in January, allowing players to get some rest from all the holiday action and prepare for February. There will be plenty of action again in February with some exclusive tournaments, so make sure to join our forum and enjoy the fun.
