There's plenty of these games around, from Pirates this to Pirates that, and with some games with titles that don't even use the word 'pirate' at all, like this Skull Duggery game, but it's easy to guess that it's related. The word 'skull' gives it away, like the skull symbol in a pirate's flag. The 'duggery' bit is about one of the Pirates' crew members stealing valuables from the boss, more like digging his own grave if caught out doing it. Well, can you do it? I mean, catch the thief that stole the goods. Hmm, don't know about you, but I had a tough time finding the right culprit. In fact, I never did.

The logo is the Wild symbol, paying a marvellous 12,000x the line bet for 5 of them. It substitutes for only the food symbols and triples all wins with it. Nice, even though the Wild symbol doesn't become stacked or expanded. The Thief is the Bonus Scatter symbol, it doesn't pay anything for itself in the base game, but getting 3 or more of these Bonus symbols on any active payline triggers the Booty Bonus game. Pick one of the 5 crew members you suspect could be the thief. Win cash prizes of 40x up to 3000x the line bet. The Skull is the Scatter symbol, 5 of which pays 200x the total bet amount, but getting 3 or more of these Scatters do not trigger any free spins. There aren't any Free Spins game, which is a big shame. The other symbols pay from 750x to 50x the line bet for 5 of each kind. Quite a good paytable for a 9-paylines game.

Typically of all 9-paylines games, getting a good payout can come quite easily, if you're lucky, or damn hard, if you're like me, unlucky. The theme of this game is pirate related, the name itself even suggests that. There is a scatter and a wild in this game. The bonus game is activated with the bonus symbol which is the Thief. The scatter is the Skull and the Skull Duggery is the wild symbol.

Once you trigger the bonus feature you have to select a pirate and hope that you will chose the one that will give you the biggest amount. The only problem with this bonus is that it is not exciting at all. You have only one pick and that is it. But on the other hand you can trigger the bonus very often during the base game so it balances the things that this game is missing. I play this slot very often. I never triggered the bonus with more than 3 symbols so my wins were something like 50 x bet. I always play with min bet so the wins are not that big but are regular. Always when I play this game I manage to return my money that I have lost on some other slots.

II have recently tried this Microgaming slot game called Skull Duggery. To be honest I have mixed feelings about this game, but I think I have more negative thoughts than positive.

Game looks not very good. It is old one, and it is clearly visible. Symbols made not very nice, sounds are awful, and it is better just switch it off. At least there is 9 paylines, so you could play this game with 0.09 bets.

Base game at this game could be interesting, if not stupid rules for wilds. Wilds here have own payout, which is just of a second more than 1000x total bet, and it is of course huge potential. Also wilds triple wins when substitute for symbols, but two top paying symbols it does not replace at all (quite strange, and stupid). Also scatters at this slot just have payout and nothing else, it is not great at all, and it does not start any feature. Payouts for other symbols are quite low, and generally you could get decent payout in this game if only get 4-5 wilds, or 5 scatters. Other payouts will not be great.

It is possible to trigger bonus game, by getting 3 or more bonus symbols on payline. Amount of prizes depends on number of bonus symbols you get at triggering spin. I have this feature 3 times during my 150 spins in this slot. 3 times I do not break 30 x total bet mark, and finished with quite bet result. I lost 15$ at 0.27 bets, so I think my RTP after 150 spins was lower than even 50%. And I am not sure how this game can pay me my money back, because payouts are just too low.

Overall I think this game can be interesting for players who like to see huge potential, but happy that there is nothing except this. I am not very like this game.

Skull Duggery is a very old game. I guess this is one of the first games designed in Microgaming. According to that this is one of the first slot games in the online gambling industry. Microgaming exists since 1994 and they are the pioneers in this industry. I like the old Microgaming slots very much. I think that these games were made with a lot of attention.

If you take a closer look at the symbols you will see that every one of them is a real small masterpiece. Its true that this game doesn't have the graphic and animations that can be compared to newer slot games but the graphic is likable in its own way.

But of course that rarely happens and the chances to get that are very small. To be honest I never expect to have any big wins here. I play this game more for fun because like I already said older Microgaming slots have their charm. I usually play here on 0.09 euros per spin.

Also I mostly choose automatic spins and I enjoy the game. I like the bonus round that this game offers. The payouts in this bonus round aren't very big but still it is interesting in its own way even though it is just a pick up bonus. The graphic may not be at the level of today's slots but the sound is very likable and pleasant for the ear.

To speak about the lacks of older slot games is ungrateful from today's perspective. I could say something about the graphic but at the time this game was created I believe this game had supreme graphic for the standards back then. The only thing missing here is a free spins bonus. If you could get free spins I believe that Skull Duggery would be and interesting game even for today's standards.

Skull Duggery is a pretty cool game that I play on Ladbrokes. This is a 9 line game and it has one feature. I don't play this game too much, but when ever I open it I do manage to get a good line hit or a bonus. The bonus in this game is pretty easy to get, and for me it takes less that 50 spins. Usually I get it much faster, so 50 would be worst case scenario.

Because the feature is pretty easy to get I recommend playing this game on big bets. My usual bet would be €0.36 or €0.45. I see no reason to play this game on smaller bets because the wins are also small. For example on the smallest bet, you win around €2 on the feature (slightly more if you get more than 3 thieves on the line) , and on €0.45 I got €20 or little under many times.
For me personally the game plays better on bigger bets too, and I find myself getting a lot of five of a kinds.

The graphics of the game are pretty cool and the theme is Pirates. Ah, them pirates, always up to no good, with their robbing and stealing. At least in this game we get to strike back, and send them to the plank. When ever you get three or more thieves (blue guys) on an active pay line from left to right, you enter the bonus. You have to select a pirate and send him on the plank. Each one awards you with a cash prize and if you pick good you could win a decent amount of money. I always pick different pirates, and if I get the few bonuses then I just pick the one I pick the first time.

The pays are decent and I have won €30 or €40 on a single line hit. Over all the game is fun and I do recommend it. My rating 7.5 out of 10

Skull Duggery is probably one of the oldest slot games coming from Microgaming. I’m a big fan of some of the older games offered by Microgaming. One of them is Skull Duggery slot with 9 paylines and 5 reels.

This game has a very interesting theme and symbols to match it. The theme of the game is piracy and some of the symbols are really fantastic. Of course there is a symbol with a pirate who has ( what else ) a patch over one eye, a long beard and a parrot on his shoulder. There is another symbol that I like and that’s a pint full of beer. Hmm when I think about it a little I may have a lot of thing in common with pirates because I also love beer. Beside the symbols I also like the sounds in the background and the colors.

Generally it is a game which despite being very old has a supreme design. The best thing about this game and the most interesting is the bonus round– Booty bonus. The bonus round is triggered when at least 3 symbols on a winning line appear with a thief taking out the loot. In the booty bonus you choose a pirate that will walk the plank. I always choose the pirate with black skin. I don’t know the right reason but I am surely not a racist.

I always play here with a small bet of 0.9 or 0.18 bet per spin.That is why I can’t say that I had some big wins even in the bonus round. But I do come back here often because I like the complete impression that Skull Duggery left on me. Still if you ask me this game has a few flaws like the lack of a free spins bonus round. It’s a big setback in my opinion because thechance to win free spins is what attracts me most in a slot game. I guess other players think the same. The second thing I don’t like is the small number of paylines, only 9. For today's standards it’s very little but this is a very old game so we can disregard that.

I would offer myself the question, "Which is better to choose, 15 paylines having better chances to hit normal wins on a slot or 9 paylines having 3x wild wins?".

Skull Duggery is just a simple delight to play on. Each win I make let's the slot make a winning tune followed by blades clashing twice. I know this slot is not exciting as Big Kahuna because it lacks another bonus.

Only one bonus can be reaped on Skull Duggery which is a bonus that lets me choose a pirate to walk the plank for a prize. I had 300 as a payout which was roughly a little over 6x for my $0.45 bets....it awarded me $3 for 3 bonus symbols left to right. At other times I had 500 on a pick. Not much fun to be had for this bonus. One click and that's it....the fun is over after. That's not really what I had in mind as prizes. If this bonus could hit far often like MG's Scoop the Cash bonus then I would be sold not to doubt the Plank bonus again.

Frequency is ideal but without it it's nothing! It's nice that I came across a $12 win when I landed 2 beer symbols and two Skull Duggery 3x wilds (4 winning combination), it would have been magic had it gave me 5 beers. Assuming my calculations are correct my total win for 5 beers would have been $36! There are always chances to hit these symbols, maybe more if I come back to Skull Duggery. Pirate theme and food symbols, a bonus game, normal scatter payouts of skulls and a 3x wild logos.

Skull Duggery stands it's ground on an 8 out of 10! I don't think it's good as Big Kahuna but whether it's the 3x wild I want in Skull Duggery or the two bonus rounds I want under Big Kahuna I will always have a dilemma for both of them!
