Realm of Medieval Knights, Ladies and Riches, a favourite movie genre of mine, and for slot games too. Realm of Riches is another similar one from the stables of RTG, the closest to the game Coat of Arms, so let’s see how it does in comparison. Everything else in terms of graphics and sound is standard RTG offering, so 1 star down.

The Wild symbol, the Crown, pays a wonderful 10000 x line bet for 5-of-its-kind but doesn’t double or triple any wins. The Shield, the Scatter symbol, pays a very low 50 x total bet for 5 of them, while the Queen pays 2500 x line bet for 5 Queens. Excellent win value for the Wild symbol in combination with low ones for the others, so 1 star down.

The feature game is similar to Coat of Arms, whereby getting 2 scatters on the first two reels award 1 re-spin, giving a chance to get 3 or more scatters on the re-spin. 3, 4 or 5 Shields, the Scatter symbol, awards 10, 15 or 25 free spins, with possible re-spins and retriggering for more free spins. The free spins game do not have any win multiplier but the Wild Crown expands fully on the reels, for a possible 5 Expanded Wilds, for the maximum win. Very nice! It would have been much better if all wins during the free spins play are doubled or tripled, for an even bigger payout possibility, but as it is, it’s still good enough. No star down/up.

How does Realm of Riches play in comparison to Coat of Arms? Personally, I like Realm of Riches a lot more. The two scatters on reels 1 and 2 usually would end up with 3 or more scatters on the other reels after that 1 re-spin, awarding 10 or more free spins, and a scatter payout too. Not so in Coat of Arms. I’ve had quite a number of successful re-spins, from 2 initial scatters to 3 and 4 scatters, and even 5 scatters on lovely 1 occasion, but the payout wasn’t that much as 5 scatters only paid 50 x my total bet. Still, it’s apparently much easier to get 5 scatters in Realm of Riches, hence its very low win value. From the many free spins game that I’ve won, all of them paid no less than 25 x my total bet, and frequently around the 50 x total bet amounts, which is pretty good. I’ve yet to get 3 Expanded Wild reels side by side on the reels, for a big payout, but they have always appeared separated. Not the time yet, I guess. No 4 or 5 Expanded Wild reels as yet, but I know for sure it’s a possibility, just as it is possible too in Count Spectacular. Overall, a satisfying and enjoyable game to play, with a real possibility for a really huge payout of 5 Expanded Wild reels. 1 star up.
