Social Responsibility in Focus with UK and Ireland Safer Gambling Week 2021

November is over which only means one thing, Christmas is coming! But, before we can start feeling festive, it’s time to take a look back on what has been an incredible month.

AskGamblers Podcast

In November we launched the seventh episode of our podcast where we were joined by Andreza Majela, Campeón Gaming's head of Affiliates & Partnerships to discuss Sticky and Non-Sticky Bonuses. We learnt what these two terms meant and how you can use them next time you play at an online casino.

We also launched the eighth edition, and this was an exciting one, to say the least! We met with one of our most active forum members who spoke with us about his time playing online slots and one of his biggest wins! Our Players Greatest Hits is one you do not want to miss, it is from a player to a player! Enjoy.

Big Wins

Every month we hear about big wins and November was no exception. It all started with a Lucky Gslot Player Winning Over 400,000 CAD. The Gslot punter was playing Microgaming’s 9 Blazing Diamonds WowPot at CAD 8 a spin when the magic moment happened.

This was then followed by Aloha King Elvis Dropping a $120,000 Crypto Jackpot at Bitcoin.com Games. The reels started showering the player with bitcoins after reeling in the major jackpot, a cool 1000x their total stake. BGaming’s Hawaiian themed game remains popular with players around the world and it’s obvious why. It is of course the sequel to their other popular hit, Elvis in Vegas Slot only with a new beach party twist.

Lastly, it was a King Billy Punter Who Reigned in Over €87K in winnings playing Hacksaw Gaming’s Wanted Dear or Wild Slot. Sami B, from the Nordics, told the casino this was the biggest amount he had ever won after playing many other games and only ever winning up to €5,000. The player total win was tallied to €87, 668, giving the player the perfect start to the festive season.

Industry News

November saw the launch of this year's Safer Gambling Week in the UK and Ireland. The yearly event was set up to promote safer gambling and we saw a cross-industry initiative to promote healthier gambling and raise more awareness of responsible gambling. Safer Gambling Week was also aimed at making more players aware of the available to help them stay in control of their gambling habits.

A new £250,000 grant was also announced as GambleAware Put Focus on Women’s Experience of Gambling Harm. The 18-month program will pursue a mixed-method, multidisciplinary and multi-sector approach, involving roundtable discussions, in-depth interviews, and community committees with women who have lived experience of gambling harms.

And, we launched our brand new blog, How to Play Craps: The Ultimate Guide for  Beginners. Contrary to what you may think about Craps, you don’t have to be a mastermind to play and our blog explains why! We’ve explained the basic Craps rules, how and what bets you can make and we’ve included tips on how to become a better player. So if you’re looking for a new game to try, be sure to check it out.

AGCCS Stats

Our complaints team never stop working and in November they managed to help recover $390,000 in confiscated funds that affected 319 casinos. We received 814 complaints from 694 users this month. Out of those 226 have been processed and 138 have been successfully resolved!

Thank you for your continued support, see you in December.
