GeoComply Proclaims a $200,000 Donation to Conscious Gaming

GeoComply Announces a $200,000 Donation to Conscious Gaming

A global leader in geolocation compliance technology, GeoComply, has just announced a $200,000 donation to Conscious Gaming - the non-profit organisation it set up aiming to protect consumers and enhance responsible gaming - to support its deployment of self-exclusion tool PlayPause. With the given donation, Conscious Gaming will be able to upgrade the development, industry outreach, as well as deployment efforts around PlayPause.

GeoComply Donates $200,000 for PlayPause Deployment

Initiated by GeoComply, Conscious Gaming was set up to align all industry stakeholders’ responsible gaming needs and created a standardised baseline to share nationally. As stated in the report, the organisation’s purpose is to unite the industry in order to solve the challenges created by differing requirements state-by-state.

With the initial $200,000 donation, Conscious Gaming will be able to advance the PlayPause tool, which was initially created to modernise and strengthen existing responsible gaming programs.

The global sports betting groups Entain and BetMGM have already committed to utilising the tool, with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board being the first state regulator to deploy it.

As per GeoComply, PlayPause will expand the protective self-exclusion bubble so that players remain protected when moving from one state to another, while empowering operators to strengthen their responsible gaming programs and make more data-driven decisions.

Initially made to modernise and strengthen existing responsible gaming programs, PlayPause will expand the protective self-exclusion bubble to keep players protected when moving from one state to another.

The tool will also streamline the administrative burden and eliminate the silos associated with maintaining several separate state-operated self-exclusion databases, the repost said.

GeoComply Proud to Commit Funding to Conscious Gaming

GeoComply’s chair and co-founder, Anna Sainsbury, commented: “We have been very fortunate at GeoComply to have a front seat to the growth of the iGaming industry across the United States over the past decade. We recognize with this growth comes challenges and GeoComply is proud to commit funding to Conscious Gaming to help the industry fulfill its responsibilities and obligations to responsible gaming and a safe environment for players.”

Likewise, Seth Palansky, vice president of social responsibility and communications at Conscious Gaming added: “The interest and momentum for PlayPause from operators and regulators since the launch has been tremendous. This donation from GeoComply will help us scale our efforts and help drive the adoption of PlayPause throughout the U.S. iGaming industry in 2021.”

A Tool Designed to Unite the Industry

Powering every major platform and operator in over 40 US states, GeoComply offers solutions that have achieved almost 100% market share for enabling regulatory compliance with the critically important state and federal laws for player location.
