Gambling issues in Malaysia

Malaysian Police have seized equipment from illegal online gambling operators. During this week police in the South Seberang district have destroyed 766 desktop computers! The computers were seized by the police during raids on internet cafes being used as gambling outlets.

In an interview local commander Superintendent Shafien Mamat told reporters that the raids were a great success. They resulted in 200 prosecutions for illegal gambling activity within the district. The Superintendent encouraged local communities to continue to report suspicious activity.

It has been advised that this will help curb crime activities within these internet cafes as many of them are being used for gambling venues. The police have assured the public that their identities will remain protected at all times.
