EGBA Calls for Industry-Wide Support Ahead of the First-Ever European Safer Gambling Week

EGBA Calls for Industry-Wide Support Ahead of the First-Ever European Safer Gambling Week

The inaugural European Safer Gambling Week (ESGW) will take place from 1-7 November, featuring a series of free-to-attend workshops and webinars organised by the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA).

In the press release announcing the week-long online gathering, the EGBA has invited all gambling organisations to support the manifestation that seeks to establish a cross-industry initiative to promote safer gambling across regulated online gambling markets in Europe.

Fostering a Stronger Culture of Safer Gambling in Europe

Under the slogan Fostering a Stronger Culture of Safer Gambling in Europe, the first-ever Safer Gambling Week will be held simultaneously with similar campaigns in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The EGBA is spearheading the first-ever European Safer Gambling Week campaign from 1-7 November, seeking support from all gambling actors.

Over the course of one week, the EGBA will host several online workshops and webinars, whose participants will share the insights and experience of safer gambling obtained from various regulated markets in Europe.

The aim of ESGW is to raise awareness of safer gambling between customers, gambling companies, regulatory authorities and the wider public and to share knowledge and information about the existing regulations for safer gambling, the tools available to promote safer gambling, tips on how to gamble more safely, latest research, and much more,” the EGBA said in a statement.

The event is supported by several industry trade body members, such as Romanian AOJND, Portuguese APAJO, UK’s BGC, Sweden’s BOS, and others.

The workshops and webinars will cover a number of iGaming-relevant topics such as consumer protection, responsible gambling tools and their impact on the behaviour of consumers, avenues for building a safer gambling industry, or the role of artificial intelligence in iGaming.

The full agenda is yet to be announced.

All interested parties can apply for free-to-attend online events via the EGBA website.
