Booming Games Teases Their Upcoming Slot in Our New Interview

Last time we spoke to Booming Games they were still finding their footing as a fairly new developer among other already established and well-known software giants. Today, Booming Games can proudly show off a variety of online slots with several novelties coming right up.

In that regard, we had a pleasant chat with Frederik Niehusen, Head of Business Development, who teased us with their upcoming slot and gave us insight into all things Booming Games, achievements, challenges they face and their future plans.

So, without further ado, let’s get right into it.

1. A little birdy told us that Booming Games is just about to release a new game, The King Panda. What can you tell us about this game? Where did the inspiration for this slot come from?

We are indeed about to release The King Panda slot this July, one of our most hotly-anticipated titles. It certainly has the look of a classic retro slot, but the experience is anything but typical. An interactive paytable is displayed above the reels and it introduces an innovative type of gameplay. We have also pushed the boundaries when it comes to the design, with 3D-modelled symbols of vividly coloured glitter balls, golden records and jewel-encrusted Vegas style signs, not forgetting the Elvisesque panda decked out in the trademark jumpsuit and golden aviators.

King Panda SlotThe main inspiration for this slot was influenced by the large demand for high volatility slots and a stripping away of some of the unnecessary bells and whistles, while still retaining great gameplay and high levels of excitement. However, since we don’t want to spoil the surprise, keep your eyes peeled for more very soon on AskGamblers.

2. We already know that all your games are developed in-house. Could you tell us a bit more about the collaboration between teams when creating an online slot machine?

Players are the most important influencing factor in the design of our games, so our main goal when designing any game is satisfying their demands. The design process is therefore centered on providing the most entertaining product for our players.

When a new game is first envisaged, our R&D Dept. will use in-depth BI and analysis to ascertain what this demand is and where it lies. We will then use this information to help mould the initial conceptual development of a game.

Once we have a concept, it is imperative to convene the relevant departments to achieve the most effective collaboration between them. New concepts are pitched to senior management and experienced department heads who use their years of expertise in the business to determine the final direction and provide ongoing guidance for the duration of the development process.

With a high number of divergent departments, all striving to introduce innovative new themes, features and designs to make our games more engaging for our players, maintaining an organized workflow with a high level of co-operation is the most efficient approach.

3. Are you perhaps a slot player yourself? If yes, what is your favourite slot? Have you got any tips for AskGamblers’ players?

Although not a social slot player myself, you can imagine as the CEO of a company making online slots I play a wide variety. It would be very hard for me to pick a favourite, but I certainly have a few of which I am particularly fond. Valley of the Pharaohs is one of our upcoming releases that I have high hopes for. With its immersive design, it transports players back in time to ancient Egypt to explore the mysteries of the pharaohs and their priceless treasures. It features Gamble, Free Spins and Expanding Symbols to help boost players’ winnings.

Another favourite would be the Booming Seven Deluxe slot, a classically designed slot with some rewarding symbols, such as the x7 Multiplier. It also happens to be one of the our most popular titles to date. Come July, you can be sure that The King Panda will be on the top of my list.

4. You’re still a relatively new kid on the block making its way to the top. What has been the greatest challenge you have had to face so far?

Being a pioneer is certainly a challenge, but one that we delight in. Since the start we have experienced rapid growth and the opening of new offices globally and don’t consider ourselves the ‘new kid on the block’ anymore. We now count highly experienced and recognised experts in the industry amongst our staff and serve multinational providers.

Having said this, we still face competition with larger companies, but there is certainly a place for more modern, creative and dynamic companies to compete within an exciting and constantly evolving market.

5. What advice would you give someone who is just getting into the iGaming business?

First thing to point out is that iGaming can be a tough and challenging business, in addition to the legitimate standards and purview required, but one that is potentially very rewarding.

“Be prepared to navigate through a lot of red tape.”

Before launching an iGaming business, it will be necessary to obtain various licenses and each jurisdiction has its own requirements and legislation that you will need to be familiar with.

“Keep expanding.”

You should frequently offer new entertaining products to the market to remain relevant and compete effectively with other companies. Player retention is strongly related to the frequency that companies bring new product to the market.

“Know your markets and where you need to be.”

It is important to know the markets you wish to target. Different regions have different demands and your content should reflect this. We use in-depth BI to analyse our markets, so we are aware of the preferences for themes, features and game mechanics.

Being situated in your markets can also be an important aspect, so think carefully about where you wish to operate from. Many iGaming companies operate out of locations that have the most favourable legislation for them, such as Malta or the Isle of Man.

6. Can you reveal some of the things Booming Games will be working on in the near future?

Earlier this year saw the introduction of Double Symbols, Mystery Wild Multipliers and Interacting Symbols, which have gone on to become firm favourites amongst our fans. Features currently under development and primed for release this year include:

  • Slippery Wilds that transverse down the gameboard with each spin racking up multiple wins,
  • pattern matching wins, such as the Four Corner Pay feature, which will award a bonus payout if you can achieve certain symbol sets in each corner of the gameboard,
  • and the Wheel of Fortune, which spins to randomly assign various bonuses and power-ups to existing symbols.

8. Where do you see the future of online gambling?

It is no secret that mobile gambling is of great significance in attracting new players, as well as being an important part of development within the industry. With the explosion of Wi-Fi and the proliferation of mobile devices, more and more people are accessing the online gambling market with their phones. From the start, our products have been available on mobile devices and The King Panda slot will be our first title to offer a portrait-orientated gameboard.

With continually improving software and technological advancements, the possibilities are endless. High-end graphics in conjunction with fast loading times is another area we are working on and we have many new exciting features, optimised UIs and game mechanics to be released in the very near future. This is destined to pave the way to an even more engaging gaming experience for players and facilitating greater player interaction.
