Betsson has secured its third online gaming licence in Argentina, in the province of Cordoba. Together with its partner, Casino de Victoria, Betsson became the eighth operator to receive a licence from the regulator, The Cordoba Lottery (Loteria de Cordoba).
The local government approved legislation to allow online gambling in May 2022, and The Cordoba Lottery was appointed to oversee the development of the online gaming industry in the province. The plan was to start with online gambling in the province before the Football World Cup in 2022, but the process was delayed because of certain local laws in the city of Cordoba.
Major Milestone for the Two Companies
President and CEO of Betsson AB, Pontus Lindwall, said that the company is very satisfied that it will have a chance to operate in another locally-regulated Argentinian province. He only had words of praise for the company’s partner, Casino de Victoria:

A Lasting Partnership
Betsson began its cooperation with Casino de Victoria back in 2019 when the two companies started a joint application process for online gaming licences in the Province of Buenos Aires and the City of Buenos Aires. The regulatory bodies granted both licences, and the two companies launched their joint operations project in 2022.
Casino de Victoria is a leading local land casino operator and a part of Grupo Mautone. Betsson AB is a Swedish online gaming operator and one of the largest gaming companies in Europe. Their latest licence in Argentina is a part of the company’s plan to expand its presence in the LatAm market.
