Chance Hill closing doors

Bog standard, no frills, run of the mill, dull-ish casino that's closing at the end of the month. Accounts going over to Instacasino.

They started off OK to be fair but then faded - like a lot MT sites they probably cap their deposit bonus wins at 500 quid or 1k. So no loss.

My next guess at the casino culling is Cashmio.

Yeah Chance hill used to be one of my favorite, until they moved over with their MGA license and UK license and I became restricted.

I remember they opened IKIBU Casino shortly and they seems to be doing good.

Sad News indeed.

Like many, started strong....maybe overstretched cos they went from daily offers to, er, yearly ones?

As for Ikibu....again, had a 1.20 4 reel wild desire in my first 50 deposit but quite frankly that's the only good thing with them. 90, yes, 90 wagering for their bonus offers and their list of excluded games with a bonus is the biggest I've seen - told their VIP host Winston he'd be quicker telling me what i CAN play  (why they can't be like L AND L casino who even let you play DOA with a bonus - in fact, i think they've no restricted games, is beyond me)

PS, word of caution - anyone playing at MT - like above, check their terms for their deposit offers. I'm pretty sure most never capped their max bonus wins but it's been creeping in on their sites - Calzone were no max, now 1000 etc.

I know bonus's are discretionary etc, don't need to take but that's enough to not make me want to deposit.  B)

Now that's a terrible twist which has all the potential to become the beginning of the end for those of the MT SecureTrade Limited brands who adopted such ridiculous term. :(

Absolutely....I used to take the Calzone offers until one day I looked and went ‘eh, 1000 max withdrawal?’. Then I went hunting on the other MTST sites and went ‘they’re all at it!’ :-p

Noticed even with Energy Bet, obviously not MT, they’ve capped their Friday 100 per cent offers to two hundred quid. Coupled with the fact that you can only play ALL the funds on one awful game is casino madness.

People will simply, and hopefully, migrate to the ones that don’t. Very very short term viewing.

Offering you a tiny different perspective... :)

Not quite a fan of conspiracy theories but... Have you considered all this to be just the next step into the #BonusIsDead campaign? ;)

Yep... we seen the start of it a few years ago when things like 32 Red's 100% depo offer became 75%, then 50% and now they offer 25% (some lucky ones get more). I don't remember when it all went a bit wrong but i do remember saying years ago 'auch 200% offer, i got a 300% the week before' Then the 200 became 100...etc etc.

Even Videoslots are slashing their perks

Increased taxes, UK wise, have basically meant other countries are subsidising a lot of UK punters as well ;)

Sweden? Well that's one bonus per account. They're dead and buried

Why? Taxes? Operational costs? Market Saturation? Bonus abuse? Probably a mix of all.

Some casino may seek to offer cash back instead and other more creative ways of giving something back, who knows....

But yeah, the bonus glory years have gone...though i see Grosvenor are offering a 100% SUB with 5 or 10 x wagering  :p

I can live without bonus's...but for people who like a bit of play time, especially in this age of HV slots, it is a blow.

What annoys me is casino who are still trying to offer them. If you can't offer decent bonus's...Don't. The effect is that in doing so you'll simply lose people as they'll think 'this is rubbish'. If they came out and said 'listen no more bonus offers BUT...', then i think that's better personally.

Take Novibet? I haven't had a bonus since i signed up? But i still play because i get, on average, 50 wager free spins every other week at 40p plus. Not massive but you can bet i withdraw more from them in a year than i do with a weekly reload  ;)

I think we'll see a lot more races/tournaments/cashback for those casinos wanting to offering players in the future.

I actually, sometimes, preferred when it was a sticky bonus in the UK. Why? Because if you got a bit 300% offer you could just take a massive chance with 5 quid spins. 999/1000 you bust but i'd a few where i met 80k wagering by hitting it lucky.

I think a lot of casinos will be doing Cashback instead of 'Bonuses' (bonuses with wagering). To be fair the cashback from Playojo isn't bad and gets better as you go higher up the vip levels. You also get other bonuses from time to time with no wagering, which is always nice. There's also a new casino called Mustardbet that are doing Cashback too which is decent value.

The UKGC will be starting to clamp down on a lot of bonuses now, welcome bonuses especially, as they see it as enticing people to gamble... and, to be fair, they're right.

Have seen so many predictions re casino bonus future and yet, none of these is even close to the reality we all witness. One should never forget that the word bonus has been designed and implemented to match online gambling main driving force which is called greed. ;) And whatever the future bonus form would be, have zero doubts it's gonna match greed's most common "manifestations".

As for UKGC and their never ending changes, we are still to see any real value for the players, such as drastic decrease in the percentage of problem gamblers who lost home, job and savings due to gambling as well as more fair, fast and reliable gambling environment for UK&ROI punters. Setting endless requirements and demands towards operators doesn't necessarily get there IMHO...

Welcome to AskGamblers Forum though. :)

Struggle to see the differences between offering Cashback and a Bonus - many will deposit for cashback, many will continue to wager monies if CB is based on wins as well as losses. So don't know how you can really say CB's ok, bonus's aren't. They're still an incentive to deposit at Casino X and not Y. But that's just my opinion.

Call me an old fashioned laissiz faire capitalist but it pains me to see a bunch of faceless men/women, having assumed the role of our moral compass, pass various pieces of regulations/rules onto private companies who are simply operating in a supply/demand free market.

Take Fixed Odds Betting Terminals - they are most profitable in the more deprived areas of the UK. How to deal with them is to attack the issue of why, in a relatively rich country like the UK (pre-Brexit, we'll be skint after it), we have such areas. Education? Social Barriers? Nope - can fix the issue by capping stakes. Yeah, Ok.

BTG's buy feature is allowed, for example, but FOBT's are evil (Guardian's words)? What's the difference? - the UKGC isn't even consistent in their approach.  Protecting people? Why do they continue to licence casinos that purposefully encourage people to reverse? - Hello, Casino Rewards Group. Casinos's based in the America's who continue to offer their product to UK Punters? Again, nothing. Probably too much effort - banning bonus offers is easy though with a flick of their quill.

My personal view is that casinos are, in the main, fulfilling their(if you want to think of it this way) their end of the 'social contract'. Yet regulators insist on more constraints, more rules based on a proportion of gamblers becoming addicts. Same way some people who drink become alcoholics.

Lot comes down to whether you like/agree with the idea of Big Government. I don't. I will contradict myself a tad by saying though that I do think that casinos's can't just operate with no regard for their customers - they're making a lot of money offering a product that is addictive and dangerous (what isn't these days) but banning bonus offers/limiting autospins/max time between spins isn't the way to fulfill that.

All the above is irrelevant as it's here to stay. The result is that many people who show self restraint and take responsibility for mistakes (and I've made a few in my time) are worse off. The occasional punter loves  a good 200% offer to get a bit of extra play time. Oh, oh - can't have that: some people can't control their impulses so you're not getting one.

V makes a great point - let's see how all these pan out in the future.

It's a tricky balance and one we'll all never agree on ?
