I wanna see what y'all think.

As a new gambler, what do u advice.. pump a lot of money into a somewhat sure stake, or ease into it with a little quid, steady growing your balance then pump most of it into a reasonably guaranteed stake?

Hi there, and welcome to Askgamblers.  :hi:

Firstly, all new gamblers should and must realise that gambling is not much difference than formula 1 racing! For newbies, it is suicidal!!! What it means is that, before anyone can participate in such very risky events, one must be armed with all the essential knowledge and experience first!

For gamblers, playing casino games without the required knowledge and experience would definitely lead to incredibly huge losses...and also probably leading to addiction...and worse more. So, as a new gambler, always start VERY CAUTIOUSLY and with small affordable bets...NEVER play with big bets unless you know the game very well...even if you have millions in your bank account! A million bucks/quid can be lost within months!

Needless to say, it usually takes years to gain all the knowledge and experience...but every new gambler must start at the very beginning!  :p

Yeah taking into consideration what replies you've already had I think you've completely the wrong outlook on it before you even start. But putting all that to one side and if you're seriously thinking of trying slots then my advice is always start with little bets, 6+ years on and I'm still spinning with little bets and doing okay!!

Agreed - We like out budget to hold a little bit longer lo.

I spin max $0.50 these days, any higher than that lose my money and I win less.

I've never been lucky when it comes to makimg big bets. I mean I've had my moments on a winning streak but whenever I've tried just straight in on increased bets it's never worked for me.

Nowadays, things have become even worse. Damn and curse that blardy A.I that every game provider seems to have installed into their servers! None of my old favourite games can ever play the same way again!  :angry:

Supe It Up is my best example. I have come across many new circumstances in the entire game play so far, which would not have happened years before, not until that blardy A.I came in! Now I'm getting blardy long stretches of no-big-wins, like over 250 Free Spins games in a row - totally ridiculous and unheard of! But when it pays, it would give 3 or more Mega Wins of over 500x within a short span of time.

Worse still, each time I start playing with bets of over $0.50, it wouldn't pay! When I chase the Free Spins games with bets of over $0.50, the third scatter would appear for a nano second, then quickly slips down just below the play screen! Sheesh! Observers like me can see these differences in the game play, and I am totally 100% certain that the A.I has taken over the game for ever!  :angry:

Worst of all...those Mega Wins that come nowadays have never been as good as before! BLARDY DAMN!!!  :angry:

For now, I will still play Supe It Up...but one day I will stop completely and move on...only time will tell when.

All my losses so far have been with small bets only. If I've been playing with big bets, I may have lost a house by now! A beginner, playing with big bets, would certainly have lost a house just within months or within a year of playing the game!

So beware! You can't beat the A.I, not until you can find a way to fool it on and off...but know too that your tricks would soon be learned by that blardy A.I...then it'll be back to square 1!  :angry:

Scale your bets with your balance. Low roll with a 20 deposit, try and get it up and then incrementally increase. Of course you could just continue betting 20p's if you have a 500 quid plus balance but where's the fun in that....i tend to bet 2% of my balance, roughly.

The other thing as to why you shouldn't bet big with low balances is the provider obsession with high variance games these days. I want 250x-500x wins, I'm not that greedy, but a lot of the recent games are aiming for the 18k X winner - if that does happen (and lets be honest, who knows - 'win UPTO'), then the other players are snookered.

Sadly a lot of slots nowadays have a scratch-card feel to them - your gonna go 500 quid sometimes in deposits before a half decent hit.

I remember the days where a 50 deposit might have gave me a few days/withdrawal, if i was lucky.

I tend not to play at casinos whereby i had a withdrawal recently - foil hat. Worked with Videoslots on Monday - not played in month, 20 in, 1400 out in bets no more than 40p - so it can be done. Won't play there for a but as everytime it happens, i go on a 70%RTP streak.  :huh:

May not last much longer for me as well...UKGC has put out a consultation about pre deposit verfication (not a bad thing) and MORE stringent assessment of the financial situation of an individual...No,no and no. Go away.

I think it would be wiser to start with relatively low betting sums and gradually raise them while you gain needed experience. And by the time you learning how to gamble, try to keep following rules in mind:

— pay attention to the rules of the casino at which you're going to play;

— never play with borrowed money;

— don't gamble for purposes of recovering your losses as you might easily lose even more;

— don't enter casino without basic strategy or plan;

— stick with reliable and safe casinos;

— always check terms of bonuses and promotions;

— set specific limits;

— don't play casino games non-stop;

— know when it's time to walk away.

There are many other things to consider and keep in mind, but I think that for now, it would be enough for you.

Hello Tilith and welcome,

One of the most important things is money management and don't chase losses.

I tend to play with a balance x bet.

Eg if I wish to do £100 I will do

500 x 20p bets (£100) if I'm negative after 500 spins I stop.

If at any point during the 500 spins I go positive balance I restart the 500 spins.
