Some important questions on gambling and chargeback

Recommended Posts

Please answer as truthfully as you can. I am from the philippines and played in 888casino and others.

1. I am restricted to play at 888casino since june 26 2018. However my husband created an account and used my card under my name. Of course i cant sue my husband. How does it go? Do i chargeback? Is it part of self exclusion where i can get the deposit back?

2. Whats the current rule om the unified self exclusion of malta gaming authority?

3. Third please help me release my stress as i am currently pregnant and i found myself addicted to online slots. I felt i wasnt myself. I won 2100 usd and lost all wins though my capital is still in tact. I was very careful and kept winning til i reach that amount in just 5 days but the nexr day i dunno what happened to me i lost control and cant stop playing til i lost all wins

1. woo, hold up...so your hubby created an account and used without permission? Charge back should be used if you didn't receive a service/goods etc - not for an alternative for reporting your husband to the authorities for fraud....

If you did this you may finding yourself opening up a can of worms with this one (if you're honest in your details for CB to the bank) At this point it may get away from you and the bank may start asking questions about fraud etc.

Can't comment about the other SE as only know about the UK...limited knowledge on MGA etc

Oh damn! Looks like your husband is being very dishonest with you...but that's a very personal matter.  :(

The first thing to do is to write in to the casino and request for closure of the account that your husband had opened. Explain to the casino that it was opened using your name and your card without your explicit permission and without your knowledge. You may need to submit proof when requested by the casino, and it may take a long while to get sorted out too. But it's the first step that you MUST make!

If you're lucky enough, the casino may refund the deposits made by your husband...or perhaps even not...can't be certain on this.

Currently, self-exclusion only involves the casinos within the same group, but self-exclusion also denotes addiction to gambling, which is true in your case...so use that self-exclusion option for all the other casinos that you can play at! This should prevent you from getting into more serious problems.

Just be thankful that you realise your addiction problems...so now you need to put a hold on it...by any means possible. Letting it go on would be asking for disaster...and God knows what your husband may attempt to do next too!  <_<

Yeah I mean you've already received some pretty sound advice here but I thought I'd jump in from one pregnant woman to another.

Regarding the husband thing - we're probabbly not the best people to help you there since it seems like a pretty personal issue you both need to sort out. I'm not sure my other hald would ever do that without at least telling me first or after so yeah maybe you should be sit and chat - especially if you have a baby on the way you don't need the stress.

Secondly about the addiction - you need to close your account as Afi mentioned. Do you have other children that can help keep you occupied and stop you playing elsewhere? I know my children certainly take up my time nowadays and I hardly get time to play. You really don't want to fall into the trap of addiction once the baby comes along so I'd definitly start taking the steps now to close your accounts before it's too late.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I asked my husband and he immediately issued me a check for the charges. In all honesty he is the provider so i dont really mind him using the card but of course he could have told me much earlier. We are both into gambling but mine is like i only play when i get free spins sorta..for my hubby this is his first time trying online gambling. He gambles big time in casinos and wins big.

However i am itching to write to the online casino for letting him use my card continuously. I feel like charging back but i know it is a huge risk so im not sure.

This is my first big win of 2100usd. I dont have a job right now so i feel so stupid losing all the wins when i was careful the entire week. I even withdrew it but got impatient. Im actually on bed rest due to severe morning sickness thats why i resorted to online casinos and got hooked when i won this amount.

Even if your husband won a million dollar jackpot, they won't pay because the card has your name on it and that's automatically a breach of terms. You should cuff him to a pole and feed him when necessary cuz he's a dog for doing this to you while you're expecting.

Addicted to gambling? there are plenty of help, casinos mostly have link to it.

Regarding chargeback, if my husband under his account name used my credit card under my mame, should the online casino refund me the charges made to my card? Im asking because first i am actually self excluded in that casino. Second the card in my name was used in another account. Whats the best thing to do? Clearly my husband used my funds but i want to see if i can get his deposits back by means of irregularity jn the terms of the casino?

Well it's a tricky subject to be honest, what makes this one even more tricky is the fact that it's your husband and then there's the fine line between whether or not you actaully let your husband use the card and because he's not won are claiming that you didn't know he used your card!

I'm not in anyway saying that is what happened - I'm just saying that's the fine line. You can ask the casino for your deposits back but they make take it forward as a fraud cause on your husband as technically he's stolen your card without you knowing. At least that's how it would probabaly go with our laws in the UK.

Hello there and welcome to AskGamblers. :)

Will try to be as brief as possible answering toy our questions...

#1. A public forum is definitely not the right place to discuss such a delicate personal matters as described in your opening post. It just doesn't feel right in my humble opinion... Take your time, sort it out with your hubby in a civilized manner and move on, that's all a man with a common sense would advice in this tricky situation I guess. :)

#2. This one is more concerning to be honest... They way I see it and feel it reading your posts you might have already been suffering from some common problem gambling issues with addiction and you must act immediately before it's too late and affected more aspects from your life in unpleasant way.

This one might be a good start, but there's also plenty of useful staff to read both here at the forum and across internet. Just make sure not postponing that even for a day and do it asap!

SOS, I am addicted to gambling - what to do?

Honestly, I think it's not good that he is using your card. Possibly, the administration won't let him make a withdrawal even if you don't mind that. I think it’s better for your husband to create his own card, and use it, so the casinos would be able to pay his winning, and you wouldn't have to worry about it.
Regarding your gambling addiction, it's a good thing that you realize your problem. It should be simpler for you to recover, as you expressed your desire to stop it. ValDes provided an informative article about that, just read it and try to follow the pieces of advice given there. Surely, struggling an addiction is not as easy as you might want it to be, but it worth it.
