Netent: Has Gonzo's Quest Changed?

Recommended Posts

Okej lets start with that i wont to point it put that i am not crying or something like that because i did not win. I love slots and its fun to play...

I have played casino in about 10 years. The favorit provider was NETENT. Gonzos quest. What i loved about this game was that id did npt give many teasers and nearhit. Mos of the time u looste the money but sometimes u won. I have played this game from the first day they realist the game....

But from January 2017 something happend to this game, The game is totaly diffrent, plays diffrent brutal. I have lost 40-45k euros on it from January. What is wrong with this games why are they sp greddy(netent). It dosent matter wich stake i play 5euro-50euro it dosent matter. It trigger bonus it pays me 10-20x bet and after that 15-10 deadspins. U can imagin how many time i have trigger the bonus playing this game 18 month maybe every singel day. My biggest win was 450x and it was on a 1euro bet. All my wins on this game wich have been vert few ho paid over 100x was on 1 euro bet. The bonuses on 5-50 euro bets never had more than 50x. I can afford to loose the money because of not i wouldnt play. But what make me angry is how they just robb u this is not gamnling a deposit on 100 euro ona 2 eu spin gone in 2-3 min. Netent have made me lost love against slot, they made me think they rigg game. <SNIP>

Okay so for starters I've removed your final sentence and given my reason above and edited your title or you risk this topic getting locked!

Now for my personal opinion on this - for me Gonzo's Quest is one of the most versatile NetEnt games I can play. I've always had a love-hate relationship with the game. Started off years ago really enjoying the game but never being able to win huge like my partner was able to or even like some screenshots I seen.

I go through phases with the game and it's by far the hardest game I play to trigger the free spins feature in fact I can go sessions with no feature at all! I haven't lost anywhere near as much as you state you have lost of course but it's certainly not NetEnt robbing you neither is the game "rigged".

When I don't like Gonzo I simply don't play it for a while, I don't really understand why you would put so much into a single game which you don't win on?

If i planned on spunking that much money in a slot I would not have picked Gonzo's Quest  - next time try Wild Rockets/Secrets of the Stones/DOA  :p

Netent don't rigg games, they just make any good ones anymore.

I imagine the OP turfed that much cash on it because he ended up chasing - easily done and hard to come back from.

Well...inspite of what everybody else may think...I personally think (and believe) that NetEnt's high volatile games have been 'downgraded' - they are now paying more with small bets and paying less with big bets!

But honestly speaking...ALL other game providers have apparently done the same too! Nope...it is not rigging...but a reconfiguration of the games to suit the current financial situation, without altering the preset RTP value. Changing that isn't allowed at all!

In view of the current trend of very low paytables of all new games from all game providers, please do not play with big bets! You would only lose a lot more...and hardly ever get those nice huge wins like before! Stick with 1 EUR or 2 EUR bets max please!  :p

Oh yes!! We've all been there chasing it cost me and my partner £4K once and it'll never happen again. Don't think I could live with myself if it was more like 45K though!

When you have lots of money in your wallet and in your bank, money has very little value...losing 1K a day may not even seem so bad!

But when money is scarce, then you will think back and say 'oh boy, was I so stupid then!'  :p

Yeah...I've been there of course...most definitely...that's why I'm now playing with only $0.10 - $0.50 bets!  :D

Forgot Jungle Spirit - the false dawn of a return to fortune. I'd have a punt with 45k on that beast  <_<

I normally deposit 100 quid at a time. Depends on my mood - if i want play I'll start on lower bets. Immortal is the only game i'll maybe start 2 quid or above, DOA is usually 1.80 max but only with a decent balance-otherwise 9p-90p, Bonanza goes to a fiver when 500 or more. Adjust and adapt. Novomatics can be brilliant if you get a bonus but when they don't trigger they will maul you. Merkur are also high variance beasts that, to get a cent return, you don't really need to venture much above 40p.

It's not like you're playing the fruity's in a pub - there's no emptier, you may think it owes you but as a RNG you're as likely to win in the first spin as you are on the 10,000th (apparently).

I chased a rather rubbish game (before i knew slots) called Arthur's Quest. One Saturday, 20 quid down - by 8pm 5k in the red. I recouped 3.5 of it the next day but not the nicest feeling. Sometime getting burnt is good for you long term. Takes away the golden allure that 'it's on fire'.

Funny how it depends on what game you lost it - losing 1k on Bonanza/DHV for me is not as bad as say, Wolf Cub/Finn - you had a stab, could have been great, but it wasn't your day. If i lost 1k on Wolf/Finn i'd probably go to a monastery for a year.

Gonzo's Quest was one of my favorite slot from NetEnt but somehow I lost interest in it, same goes for Jack And The Beanstalk and many others, however my interest came back bit by bit since the arrival of Lost Relics and Witchcraft Academy, my first big win of Lost Relics was over 300 times bet which's surprised me and Witchcraft Academy is a fun game to play, it seems NetEnt is going for the massive reels formula.
