Weird merchant names on credit card transactions

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I deposited some money on sunpalacecasino.eu and the merchant name for the charge was LOW COST ONLINE JEWELERY. It gave me pause about the legitimacy of the website and I asked for my money back. This isn't the first time I've run across this issue. A previous time, I got a similar, weirdly named merchant and they ultimately took my deposit and banned me.

Has anyone else had this issue with gambling websites? If so, can you list any you've come across? I want to be sure to avoid them.

Thanks!

Hi there and welcome to AskGamblers.

Personally, I've never encountered such odd things in my gambling life. I always check the license, also the company that runs the casino. Google for reviews and what not.

Hi there and welcome to AskGamblers. :)

No big mystery here... Since you are US player (oh yeah, I checked your IP) you should be well in aware of the UIGEA Act from 2006 and all the obstacles it set in front of online gambling financial transactions. So, no surprise at all that some gambling companies are trying to mask their business under 'low cost jewelry' for example. :D

And the same goes for online casinos in my country too!  :p
