Changing IP with Mobile Data: Miami Dice

Recommended Posts

So, my partner has been playing at Miami Dice regardless of some of the bad reviews we read and he recommended them to me after numerous good experiences there and some hassle free withdrawals.

So I headed there this morning and jumped straight on to live chat all went well until I told them my partner had an account and asked if I can also register, deposit and claim a bonus.

The agent told me yes I can have an account but it can't be the same IP. I told her that we share the same IP as we live together and it's the next thing she said that confused me. She told me if I sign up using mobile data then it will change my IP. I told her that I wouldn't want problems should I make a withdrawal due to the fact we do actually share the same IP.

She then told me that both accounts would just need to be verified. This obviously isn't a problem, his is already verified and I'd verify mine before depositing.

However, my question to you is 1. Have you heard of this before and 2. If it does change your IP (which it probably does) would I be risking a possible forfeit of winnings if it was checked at that point?

I'm not a risk taker as you all know so I'm not sure I feel comfortable doing as the agent suggested. And also I could sign up using mobile data however I wouldn't play using my mobile data it would take up too much so I'd have to play using my WIFI data so surely we'll be sharing the same IP again then?

Thoughts please guys.

Hmmm...interesting new situation that.

Yes, using your mobile phone does use a separate and different IP, because they don't share the same line. No problems where accounts are concerned. However, once you start playing using your regular IP again...then you'd be asking for big trouble my dear!  :p

As long as you play with your mobile phone, you're safe. But like me, I would never play on my phone, for whatever reason, for whatever convenience! I would stick to my laptop, or desktop, that's all. In the worst scenario, I may even go to a cybercafe to play my games, but never on any smart phone. I hate those spy machines!

I have no problem playing on my phone or iPad that really isn't an issue for me however I certainly won't be using my mobile data to play I'll be using my home internet so that's why I think I'd have problems if I did make a withdrawal.

Yes my account might have been set up under a different IP but everything else I do there will be on the same IP and that would flag up, wouldn't it?

All Player offers are limited to one per person, household address, IP address, email address, telephone number, credit or debit card and/or e-payment account, or shared computer (e.g. school, public library or workplace). If you are found to be in breach of this clause, all winnings will be confiscated.

I won't even bother to sign up if I were you ;)

Live chat agents are people too, so they too make 'mistakes'. I received different informations from live chat from a casino. Better to follow the rules instead of the live chat agent suggestion.

And regarding the IP address. Signing up and claiming the bonus via a mobile device (network provider) and then play via wifi after that, never affected my account.

Maybe you've been very lucky all this while mate! But with some casinos, things can really become a nightmare!  :p

Yes, it certainly would...and your using the same IP as your partner's IP would most probably get you into problems later on.

I played at friends's house and vice versa for years and never had any problem with withdrawals. As long you sign up via new IP address and claiming the bonus then it's all good :D

We often play in the same casinos, have done for years now so when I asked Mega Dice the question it was just a pretty standard conversion that I've had more times than I can remember but never have I been given that answer!

I believe I have already had the chance to share my opinion about the same matter on another occasion, but since we are discussing it again, let me give my two cents...

In short, IF you and your partner have been given a green light from a casino representative to register, claim same promotional offer/s and play although that's pretty much AGAINST the casino rules then okay, it means you COULD rely on the fact they will stick to their word and won't just void and tell you kiss your hypothetical big win goodbye once and if you won it of course. :)

BUT, in case the casino decide to play hard and use the old trick "Sorry, you have been given wrong information by one or more of our representatives" then you are fighting a dead cause here, simply because no regulator, respectively no ADR entity and no free mediation service like AGCCS for example would rule a complaints case in your favor providing the fact there was a clear violation of one or more casino and/or bonus rules.

Hope that helps. :)

That's very irresponsible advice they're giving...I'd steer clear. Clearly their support needs some training.

20 quid withdrawal will be fine...200? Possibly...then you'll get hit with you broke the terms. Talk about a cold sweat if you'd a decent withdrawal. No worth it.

I was banned by the Group so clearly i have a grudge  :p

Don't recall me ever being in this situation for to be honest.

But I was never going to register after that advice anyway I was simply sharing the conversation with you all.

Well, I'm just describing the worst case scenarios based on the experience dealing with complaints related to such issues. Guess you could imagine the huge disappointment of so many players who lost thousands /some even tens of thousands/ in winnings due to the aforementioned problem and breach of terms. :(

Yeah completely agree because if I was a new player taking the agents advice I probably would have believed her regardless of the fact the terms state household address I probably still would have gone ahead.

Never mind, lets hope the casino see this thread and learn a lesson from it!

Yes it´s a well known fact for us living in Sweden that you can´t set up two accounts if you have the same IP-adress. Thougt it was the same permissions every where.

We, my husband and I get a surprise today when we we both was eligeble  to set up one account each to get that  20 freespins on Lapalingo Casino. We are often denied

to take the same bonus on different casinos here. I can not see what are the reason the Casinos have to act like this.

The more player the better , that´s my opinion.

Most casino have the rule of one account per IP/address in their terms regardless of the country however a lot of casinos in my experience allow it as long as you obtain prior permission. I think the main thing they need to rule out is bonus abuse so if both parties can verify they are in fact different people there isn't usually a problem. Again this is in my experience and over the years I have learnt that it is always best to check first!
