**Help Needed - Suggestions for GOTM**

*HELP NEEDED*

 

Hi everyone, looking for some help please.

 

So our Game of the Month contest (for those who con't know about can see it HERE) is no where near as popular as I would have liked it to be so it's time to change it!

 

I of course already have some ideas of my own, which are top secret for now  BUT would like some input please. I'd like any ideas put forward to how we can improve this contest. If you don't take part already what could we do to this contest to make you want to take part.

 

Any suggestions are welcome.

 

Afi - I've noted your suggestion from the thread regarding the same games being able to be used.

 

Looking to make some changes effective from this month if I can, so I'll give you all just a day or two to come back to me,

Use the winner screenshots section for the highest win x bet from all the games. Simple, yet effective.

I think the fact that there is only 1 winner a month most probably makes guys not be interested?

 

Also these days with more and more restrictions from gaming providers, being Netent one of them across many countries, it makes it difficult for certain players to compete with new games screen shots as they cannot play other providers and the current providers that they can play with does not have  great game selection or maybe just 1 or 2 slots that's worth playing?

 

For example, Macdonis can only contribute screenshots from RTG slots I guess, and I suppose he only likes a limited number of slots from the provider( Which means he only plays 4 or 5 slots from RTG in general) , so lets say he can only compete 4 months and then wait for the year to reset, to use the same game screenshots in the following year? Just my thoughts.

 

Also not everyone has the budget to play every day/week/month, as well as not everyone session someone is lucky to have winner screenshots. I mean ask me about it, sometimes a person can have a whole bad month without any decent winner screenshots.

 

I will give as to more thoughts about what we can do - I must mention the  GOTM thread was very popular during April, I suppose because 3 places were paid? instead of the normal 1 place in other months? So chances were better of winning?

Yes i strongly agree with Fiekie247,not everyone is gambling every day.I for one dont gamble as i use to  budget restriction....and it would be nice if there is no restriction of the games and also would be great if more then 1 winner gets paid....well thats my suggestions

I found this diffcult to manage which is why I stopped the Highest win of the month. It's hard when people use different currencies, not all screenshots show bet size etc, etc. It wouldn't work.

Yeah the idea of no game restriction has been submitted by Afi and I can say it's something I am seriously considering. 

 

In regards to more prizes - I don't have an issue in giving a 2nd / 3rd prize however until the contest becomes more popular I can'r get a bigger budget, So would you want the $25 to be split for now?

To make it more fair for all participants, max screenshots of 10 for example, this could increases the odd of winning for each participant. $100 in prizes, 1st prize $40, 2nd prize $30, 3rd prize $20 and last prize $10. Minimum participants 10.

 

I think a banner could make this contest more popular. 'Share your winning screenshots and win a share of $100 in prizes'

 

To make it more interesting, one participant will get 100 free spins on NetEnt's famous game Starburst

I agree with Leodubbed - $100 in cash prices and of course minimum 10 players, if we do not have 10 players for the month, then we go back to the normal contest rules.

 

So basically $100 in cash prices if there is more than 10 participants and limit each player with only 10 screenshots to be posted.- I mean just imagine how many Supe IT Up screenshots Afi already has

 

If we are less than 10 participants, the normal $25 prize pool applied for that month - Only 1 players gets paid - But we still limit the screenshot submissions to 10.

 

However you can use the same game for 2 consecutive months maybe? So if I have 20 Gonzo screenshots then maybe i can use 10 screenshots for July contest and the other 10 screenies for August contest? - Just a suggestion.

 

I would suggest we create a brand new GOTM thread and start afresh if we decide to change the rules... - Also just a suggestion.

 

@Leo - How would they issue the 100 free spins?

Interesting guys!!! I'd already thought of limiting the number of screenshots actually, I'd had that written down but yeah I definitely like your suggestions. I'll be putting something forward soon but please feel free to keep suggesting guys.

Those free spins just an idea but if that's not possible to do, there's always another idea to give this contest extra interesting

How about free AG points / diamond points, I know those things are hard to earn

The not winners are allowed to submit 5 extra screenshots above the max allowed for the next draw.

I think 10 screenshots max must be a solid rule, regardless the amount of participants.

The last draw of the year should have double prizes, only apply for those who at least participated 8 times in that year so the last month we go with a bang!

While this really interesting discussion is gathering speed, please allow me to make some important clarifications: 

 

1/ The main GOTM goal is to gather as many winner screenshots as possible. Which means limitations of the number of qualifying screenshots on a monthly basis are simply unacceptable. 

 

2/ Unlike the others, AskGamblers is usually running their paid contests without using casino sponsors. Which means, we cannot offer free spins or any other reward requiring direct casino access. 

 

3/ Considering the fact our Loyalty /Points/ System is still in work-in-progress phase, I'm afraid we would not be able to accept any suggestions referring to these points at this stage.

Well, I must say that I'm very happy that more members are chipping in with suggestions now... 

 

I totally agree that more than 1 prize should be awarded monthly...but how to do that when there's never enough participation from members? It's a 'Catch 22' situation! 

 

1 screenshot from 10 members would be good enough for a start...but that would still fall very short of the total number of screenshots required in order to award more prizes, which was determined as 50 screenshots earlier on. So what we need now is more members participation, with 1 or more screenshots from each participant, with a total of not less than 50 screenshots per month. No doubt that I myself can contribute to 50 screenshots and more, but that's not the point. 

 

I have also noticed that there are actually many members who do have winning screenshots that can be used for each month's contest, but these members (you know who you all are, hehehe) have not shown any interest at all in participating. Why? Beats me! Must be the 'small' prize I guess, or not enough prizes to share out with me...hahaha. 

 

I am winning all the time simply because there hasn't been enough competitors to beat my 'good luck', if I may say so, hehehe. If 10 members had participated, my chances of winning would have been greatly reduced! Luck plays an important role in each monthly contest, and I can say for certain that my luck cannot be good for each and every month! No one's luck is.

The only thing I can think of is that not many players are aware of this contest, maybe including this contest in the newsletter might change that? Then again, I don't know how many members read the newsletter.

Yes, that would be one more way to make more members aware of this monthly contest.

 

However, I think it can only affect 'new' members - regular and 'old' members already know about this contest but are not participating.

I'll be sending our ideas over tonight including some of my own and I'll let you know what happens. I'm on holiday next week so if you don't hear back off me in regards to this contest everything will stay the same for July and changes will take place from August.
