Breaking The Icy Microgaming Jinx

Recommended Posts

How many times have you heard me lamenting and complaining about Microgaming games?

A million times already? Oh geeees...I didn't realise it has been that many times!  :p

Ever since I started playing MG games, way back in 2002 or 2003, there was never a time when I had managed to win and escape with a nice withdrawal. MG casinos were like a fixed deposit banking facility for me...with no option for withdrawal, hahaha. Upon realising how stupid I have been, I finally closed all those MG casino doors and concentrated on Playtech casinos instead. That was a right decision for me indeed. And I'm very glad it gave me a Playtech Master title too, hehehe.

Ever since Playtech started 'upgrading' my favourite games back in late 2015, I have since found it almost impossible to get good wins as before. Those wins just kept eluding all my big bets, coming only when playing with small bets. I then realised the futile situation I'm getting myself into, and have since gradually avoided playing Playtech games, maintaining play only on my top 3 favourite games. All others have now become a no-no for me. Playtech has become like what Microgaming was for me.

With Playtech sinking below the horizon with the sunset, I found myself 'lost' out in the open sea...with no place to go...with no place to find solace and happiness.

Then one fine day, perhaps in direct relation to what I had dreamt about a couple of months ago, I was inexplicably introduced to one Asian-based casino that has Playtech, Microgaming and Asian games not found in European casinos. How that came about, I'll never know, but it came via an sms on my phone, with a free RM50 no-deposit offer, which I just couldn't resist or refuse.

The day I signed up and took that no-deposit offer marked the beginning of a new era of slot gaming for me! Why? Simply because, it was a 'back to the past' occurrence for me, as what my precognitive dream was all about.

Note: Precognitive dreams are dreams that appear to predict the future through a sixth sense; a way of accessing future information that is unrelated to any existing knowledge acquired through normal means.

Well...ever since that day, I have been regularly playing at this Asian-based casino. You may think that I may be playing on my favourite Playtech games right? Wrong! I have started going back in time and playing my favourite Microgaming games instead! But experience has taught me to be wise at all times, so I have been playing only a very few selected MG games.

It started with Supe It Up and The Finer Reels Of Life (TFROL), but TFROL proved to be just as bad for me as Immortal Romance has been, so it has now been discarded. From Supe It up, I also went on to ISIS (non-jackpot), and ISIS is the one specific game that finally SMASHED the icy Microgaming jinx for me, once and for all! Whoopie!

How did that happened? Would you believe...I got 5 of those lovely Bird Scatters...3 times within 1 month...with 1 time during the free spins...for a whopping 3600x bet win!!! That gave me a huge win...yes...but I became a little greedy...naah...too greedy...played on and lost some...but finally withdrew RM1000. Pheeew!  :p

This story may go on and on...but I'll break it up to here for now.

As for that marvelous winning screenshot...I've got it all ready for the show...but that can wait too...to keep you guys in SUSPENSE! Hahaha.

A few days after I had made that fantastic huge win on ISIS...ooops...come to think of it...it was the very next day after the withdrawal, the casino suddenly removed all Microgaming games from their directory...and left me gasping for breath! Oh geees...whatever happened to my favourite games? There have gone totally missing!

I checked up with the Live Chat host, a lovely sweet local gal, hehehe, and she informed me that all MG games have been sent back to Microgaming for 'upgrading'. Oh geeees...'upgrading' is one word I really hate to see and hear! She said it'll take at least 1 month to get the games back...and I can see and know what that 'upgrading' is going to entail. :(

The games may be back soon enough...but it'll NEVER play the same ever again!!! I can bet my empty wallet on it! Hahaha.  :p

I know what you mean. Lately I've been craving to play Playtech slots again. I'll dedicate one weekend to find those high 300-400% match deposit bonuses and see how it goes.

Good luck mate! I hope the upgrading of the games have not been universal...so there's still good hope left for everyone else but me.  :(

Anyway, all the best and do keep us inform.  ^_^

To be honest, I think most of players think the same whenever a gaming provider updating/upgrading their games, there will be some changes, mainly on the RTP part. For example, it occurred to me that some games didn't pay as much as before their upgrade/update. Bonus money/deposit bonus are restricted to jackpot games after the update/upgrade and this also applies to a game that has a very high potential like Dead or Alive. Sure, there are some casino out there allowing us to play all games with bonus money but there are a few of them. Rare and scarse.

I still play MG games now and then but I have lost some interest in them because they didn't even try to compete with their 'rivals'. Their games have same gameplay, graphics etc. Keep in mind that this is my opinion, how I see MG nowadays.

Well, lion mate, after going back to my roots recently, back to Microgaming games I mean, I still say that some old games are best as they are. These include games like Supe It Up, Beach Babes, Isis and Break Da Bank Again. I would like to say the same for Playtech's Dolphin Reef, Safari Heat and Mr Cashback...but I know for sure that they aren't the same anymore.  :(

Yes, an upgrade with much more beautiful graphics for the mentioned games would certainly be welcomed...as long as they don't reconfigure the game play...which would only mean lesser bigger wins and more smaller wins...the current trend of new games. Dead Or Alive is the most obvious one to me.  <_<

And now...it's time for 'Breaking The Icy Microgaming Jinx' show to begin...

the winning screenshots that finally broke that damn icy block of Microgaming Jinx...

after a damn blardy long 15 years or so of trying and hoping...hehehe.

Now, may the 'Jinx' Rest In Peace eternally!  :D

My 1st ever MG's high-paying 5 Scatters win...what a beauty!  ^_^

post-61309-0-38813400-1492746693_thumb.jpg

The second 5 Scatters win within the same month at the same Asian-based casino...

post-61309-0-79104900-1492746720_thumb.jpg

Finally...the 5 Scatters that paid a whopping 3600x in the free spins...the most beautiful of them all!

(I caught the image before the win amount even came up! Super-fast finger at work...hahaha)

post-61309-0-79218700-1492746773_thumb.jpg

The final payout after completing the free spins...a whopping 3727x bet win...

post-61309-0-11362900-1492746847_thumb.jpg

The only MG's high-paying 5 Scatters win I've seen so far was the one won by Johnnygotthebone in Beach Babes.

Now I have surpassed that feat...and can safely throw away my previous statement...

that "Microgaming high-paying 5 Scatters don't ever come during the free spins, unlike in Safari Heat"  ^_^

Microgaming...if these 4 games stay as they are...I'll be loving them as never before!

Did you play with real money?

Did I play with real money?

Hmmm...the meter does show real coins though...hahaha.

That ISIS game is the old version mate, without the option for showing real credits instead of coins.

Not to my liking, but what the heck...the coins won are REAL!  :D

Normally the word 'real' is showed at the bottom left of the game but I didn't noticed the text above the balance though since the balance a bit distracting :D

I really thought it was $215.981   but now I see it wasn't :(, it was still a nice win though! :good:

That's the reason why I've never liked the balance shown in coins...can be deceiving.

Imagine...I had MYR 2,159 balance at the end of that free spins game...but greed took over me...played and lost several hundred more, but managed to withdrew MYR 1000, leaving MYR 300 behind for more play. Sometimes, this greed can be so menacing! :p

Told you so many times during these years your Microgaming day will come eventually... :p:)

Congratulations mate, an impressive success story indeed! Now comes the harder part you know... Keep them coming, keep them coming! :good:

Thank you Guru mate!  :hi:

Now that the ice is no longer freezing me up, I feel so much more confident playing my favourite 4 MG games...

so much so...I think Playtech's sun has just gone under the horizon! Hahaha.  :D

You are not the only one to complain about MG, in fact I think most of us have changed our opinion about them over the last 2 years.

I'm no stranger in admitting some of my favourite slots of all time are MG's 9-liners, Ladies Nite, Tally Ho, Spring Break, Adventure Palace mainly and those who have been here for a few years will know going back about 4 years ago my screenshots were mainly made up of these games alone.

But MG changed, their games all because the same which is ironic because the games I mentioned above are all identical expect the symbols and I love those.

I miss MG though I have to be honest, in my eyes I don't see anyway back for them.

But back to what you said Afi..First congrats on your ISIS win, I was a fan of the multi player version back in the day, never managed to do very well on the game itself though. Are you still going to give the games a bash on their return?

Well, honestly speaking, I have given those 9-liners a fair chance to prove their mettle to me...but I only ended up disappointed. As for the rest of MG games, they are no better or no worse than any others, except for the mentioned 4 games, which are of the high variance kind. These can really pay good and huge.

Thank you for your kind words, Sharon darling. When those 'upgraded' games come back next month, I'll definitely give them some good plays and deep observations. I already know what to expect from them...so nothing would surprise me...except if they still play as good as before! Hahaha. :D

Then my hats off to Microgaming...for doing what no other games provider would do, or have done...by upgrading their games without changing (reconfiguring) the game play. This is a very unlikely scenario...but I'll soon know for sure.  ;)

Forgot to refresh the page and I've just caught up on the rest of your replies and your screenshots!

Wow! 5 scatters I think that's the first I've seen it done on the game! Well done indeed!

Yep! I was totally and deeply surprised too when I got the first 5 Scatters win. I have thought that such high-paying 5 Scatters would be like once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, and that 5 Scatters win by Johnny was in fact the one and only one I have seen from any MG game...excluding all those cheapo 5-Scatters win of course, which only paid hundreds for 5 of them.

Getting 5 Scatters 3 times within the same month...that probably gave the MG guys a huge shock and made them pull back all their games the day after! Hahaha.

Remind me which game Johnny got them on again my memory is escaping me!

Those 5 Scatters were on the game Beach Babes.

Beach Babes, Supe It Up and Isis are basically all the same game but with different graphics.  ;)
