Playing in free mode

Hi guys,

Forgive me if there is already a thread about this, and please delete if I am going over old ground. I am wondering about the free mode in games. I have been gambling for two years now, and have my favourite games (only 3 games I have to say) but I have been looking at all the fantastic wins and screen shots here, and I'm blown away! There are a couple of games which look super lucky so I thought I would try them in free mode to get a real feel for them. What I'm wondering is do you guys think that the game plays completely differently in free mode? Or do you think it's an accurate account of how a game usually plays out? I know obviously some days you can win big and others lose big, but I usually find in free games that bonuses and spins aren't triggered nearly so often. I always thought the free mode would show more of these to then entise you in to play for real money. Would love to hear others opinions on this

Hi Bee2121.

Yes, this topic has been discussed here more than enough times already!  ^_^

The truth is...no one can say with 100% certainty than fun mode play is the same, or otherwise, as when playing in the real mode!  :p

Each one of us has reasons to believe it is so, or not to be it is so.

I, personally, have always believed that fun mode play can never be the same as the real mode play. I have done lots of research into this, have done numerous comparisons playing in both modes, plus, I have also been informed by certain reliable casino staff that fun play usually uses a different set of reels...just as Free Spins game uses a different set of reels from the base game too!

So...whatever it is...you have to make up your own mind. Regardless of what others may tell me, I am a 100% believer in what I have said...that fun mode play can never be the same as the real mode play.  :D

For a very quick comparison, you can try playing the game PIMPED in fun mode first, then play it with real money, and compare the difference. But make sure you play at least 2000 spins in the fun mode, preferably much more, in order to get a better feel of the game. Pimp can go hundreds of spins without paying anything at all! Just like in Dead Or Alive, but without the HUGE payout potentials of DOA. ;)

Thanks for the replies. But do you think free mode usually seems better than real play? I usually find real play works better than free play Again I appolosgie for going over old ground. I am new here, so I will search through the threads in the future. Thanks for giving a great reply, I'm sure you've had to do it 100 times

Well...103 times actually...hahaha...just kidding!  :D

In my experience free play is completely unrealistic. The only reason I'll even entertain free play is to find out what the slots features are like and to see if it's a game I think I might like.

I like to hear from people with more experience than me. I've now got an idea of some other games, but I think your right in regards to free play. Plus I'm bored of it now, I want to play for real!

I'm pretty sure following this link will help you find all relevant discussion we have already had regarding the matter. ;)

Hi guys,

I can tell you that games offered by UK licensed operators such as Stan James are required to provide the same game results, regardless of whether the user is in demo/free play or real play. This is a legal requirement and may result in the operator losing thier license if they do not comply.

I cant speak for non UK operators, but suspect that this isn't always the case.

Thanks for stepping in this is indeed one of the most speculated topics in the forum.

Have you ever played your games in free mode and compared them to real play?

Hi Azzthatch.  :hi:

With due respect to UKGC and all the other Gaming Authorities, I really doubt that all games can play in the same way, both in the fun mode and in the real mode.

For example, pick any game with a Jackpot Prize, from any software provider, play it in fun mode for at least 2 thousand spins, then compare the results playing in the real mode. I do know for sure that Marvel Super Heroes games DO NOT play the same way! I have also seen similar results with almost every other software games too, so it isn't just Playtech.

The good thing is, I have seen some positive results being taken by a certain software provider whenever I had made serious comments about these differences in their games, and these games now play closer to the real thing, but never as real as the real play thing. At least, the said games aren't so deceiving now!  :D

Hi there,

That's fine, everyone is entitled to thier opinion :) To be honest I haven't really done any analysis on this.... all I know is that its a UKGC requirement for games to use the same RNG for both demo and real play. Of course if that is found not to be the case then I'm sure they deal with it accordingly.

Using the same RNG for both the fun mode and the real mode doesn't mean giving the same results, mate!

All results are governed by what is programed in the various configuration sets of commands, under the control of the RTP and other 'Master' programs, even though the final overall RTP may remain unchanged!  <_<

Perhaps you should spend some real time and do some analysis on your own, if it matters to you anyway, mate. I have come to realise that nothing in this world is 100% perfect, nor can be 100% as what is stipulated! There are always 'fine print' clauses that would allow a certain 'variations within limits' tolerances, and nothing shall ever be 100% rigid.  -_-
