SOLVED: Why I will NEVER EVER use Skrill again !! A caution to you all

Recommended Posts

Your story horrifies me, I only had £150 taken and cried, a few thousand would literally break me! And Skrill did not keep me informed at all I had to do all the chasing and keep on at them, I was told the same thing every time I spoke to them. It's being looked at blah, blah, blah.

Their excuse for only getting me back £40 is a joke and it just proves to me that they really don't have the facility to deal with fraud cases. And even though Afi I trust your word 100% I can never put my trust in Neteller either, I simply can't take that risk which is why I am now no long an e-wallet user! Shame, but the harsh reality of it is my money is much safer in other places. If it means I have to wait a day or two to receive my withdrawals then so be it.

I totally understand Sharon darling!

The fact remains that Banks and Banking Institutions are the most safest for us public!

Not because they cannot be hacked into, they are just as vulnerable, but we public users, their customers, are GUARANTEED that our monies are safe with them, through the numerous banking regulations, customer rights constitutions, and insurance coverages. If some blardy hacker stole our money from our bank account, the bank has to reinstate the stolen amount through insurance claims. Never an easy process for both the banking sector and the insurance companies, but customers are always kept safe and happy.

Notice how some banks and insurance companies go bankcrupt?

Well...all purely due to fraudulent activities...either by hacker criminals, robbing criminals, or even by staff of the banks themselves! Where money is concerned, humans can turn a blind eye and do what they know is against the law!

I wish I can blame all these on JESSE JAMES and his band of outlaw boys...but there were many others before him!!! :D

Bonnie and Clyde is just one of numerous 20th Century examples! Hahaha.

I recently got an email from Skrill warning me to change my password. I'm assuming that's because they had another safety threat/concern. I immediately did change my password, because I was worried about what might happen. Although no money was taken nor was there suspicious activity, I was thinking that if something any information had been compromised it would be too late to do anything by the time they contacted all their customers telling them to change their passwords....

Absolutely Afi and once again you answered perfectly! This is what shocked me the most about Skrill that they don't have insurance in force for fraudulent cases. Where money is concerned of course there will always be a risk of hackers, a company just has grown to be as big as Skrill really should have better measures in place. In my opinion.

Just keep an eye on your account, daily if you can.

Man i feel so sorry for you. Id love to get my hands on these hackers & give them all a good Hiding..

Well, if I can have it my way, I would hack into their bank account, clean out all their money, leave behind $14 as they did to me, and let them have a taste of their own medicine! 7 months later, I'll give them back all their money! ***** for tat, hehehe.

Out of the two of these, I think I'd go with a good hiding too!  :diablo:

Im having some issues with them aswell. I am fully verified and have cashed out funds to my bank maybe 10 times without any issues. Always prossesed and arrived in my bank account within hours.

But now when i decide to withdraw my biggest amount yet, suddenly it takes days and no money. I call them and they say they are having technical issues with the bank that handles payments in my country. Well most bank issues usually sorts in hours not days. They are telling me i might have to wait untill end of next week. But end of next week is easter hollidays so basilcy probably 2 weeks from now.

But they informed me they could cancel it and i could spend it from my skrill account.. But that is useless fore me. Im going on easter vacation and i was planning on spending this money fore som extra fun. But thats impossible without it being in my bank account.

Why would a technical issue take days to fix? Are they just trying to get me to order their mastercard? Or to try to make me spend from the skrill account so they can earn money?

Oh dear you are not having much luck with these winnings are you! First the casino now Skrill  :o

MasterCard is one of the easiest ways to use Skrill, when I had Skrill I couldn't have managed without the card but plenty of people do! I can't see why it would take so long to sort out whatever the "problem" was.

Which country are you from?

What disgusting attitude from Skrill! I've never used them but I definitely won't after reading all of your stories. Everything that is virtual can be stolen these days. No safety at all!

Hello quinckr and welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid you're right, the world we live in now means nothing is guaranteed to be safe. If I'm honest I'm gutted this experience happened to me. Millions of people use Skrill, are happy and never have a problem. I indeed was one of these, now I can't use them due to worry that my money isn't safe.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still waiting on my money from skrill. It has come to my attention via another forum that it affects all customers from Norway. Its been over 2 weeks now and i have still not gotten a satisfying answer or my money.

Still they keep telling me i can cancel and transfer to somebody else via skrill... How does that help me ?? Lol.. This is by far the absolute worst customer service experience i have had with any company. If it truly was a technical issue they should have some updates or some people working on it. Cannot say after 14 days that uhmm we still dont have a timeframe.

Do you not have a different bank account you can add that you can then withdraw to?

Its not my bank. Its their norwegian payment prossesor. Or so they claim. It affects all norwegian customers and all norwegian banks.

So all i can do is wait and hope its nothing seriously wrong as in the government here denying them to handle payments to norwegian banks...

Oh I see! Sounds like a complete nightmare then. If it is something serious and turns out you can no longer withdraw to your bank then maybe the best option for you is to get their MasterCard. Yes it's lengthy, Yes you have to pay a one-off small charge for the card but at least it's always an option there that guarantees you get your winnings in the long run.

I sincerely hope that it doesn't come to that though and that this issue is sorted soon for you.

I honestly didn't think I would be posting an update to my issue with Skrill. As far as I was concerned I wasn't getting the rest of my money that was stolen, back. Since this is what customer support at Skrill told me.

However, by chance today I had to log in to my Skrill account. I haven't used it since the money was stolen. I couldn't believe my eyes when I seen I had a positive balance - All of the funds that were stolen from me were now safely back in my account! And I didn't even know. So it was a lovely surprise to wake up to this morning.

It's a shame that my issue took the route it did as my perspective of Skrill has changed forever and there's no going back for me. However the main point is I did get my money back in the end,

I still believe Skrill need to make some serious changes to their operations but for now I'll say thank you to the team that eventually recovered my money. It makes a huge difference to a small town girl like me with an extended family on the way. So I am extremely grateful.

All's well that ends well!

Great news that Sharon darling! :good:

As for Skrill, they still need more lessons on proper communications with their customers!!! <_>

Imagine returning your lost money and NOT INFORMING YOU about it? Geees!

Exactly! And I almost cut up my Skrill MasterCard too in fury when it happened! I'm glad I didn't now  :p
