Skirll   Dear fuad gazibegovic,

Thank you for providing us with all the necessary information.

We have forwarded your case for further review to our respective department here in Skrill and as soon as they complete the investigation on the unauthorised activity registered with the account they will update you accordingly via email.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you for your patience and continuing understanding throughout this procedure.

Kind regards,

I did everything what they wanted from me(they send me 10 questions and i answer on all of them, after that they wanted report from local police and i am send it report from police.... and in the end of last week i recived this email.....like you see i am on the stand by now and praying for my money.Did you have maybe the same procedure like me? i am every day update my skrill account but i think its to early for suprises :) my money has been stolen on 17.March 2016......my case is fresh and have to wait ;)

Yep it all sounds very familiar apart from the 'police' bit. I had to fill out a form detailing what happened and then I received emails with pretty much the same context as you.

They certainly don't rush these cases, so from experience I would just advise you to wait a bit longer and then ask for an update.

  • 4 weeks later...

Yesterday morning I deposited money into my NETELLER account then decided I would have a nap before hitting the casinos. When I awoke a few hours later I checked my emails and there was an email from NETELLER telling me my change of primary email was successful. I quickly logged into my account to find that I was left with 27cents.

2hrs in the queue waiting for a customer service rep I was getting very stressed.

When I was finally connected it started dropping out every 30 seconds or so. I informed the rep that my account had been hacked, email changed and money stolen.

How did this happen when I need to verify everything I do on my NETELLER account via SMS code?

How did they not notice this suspicious activity?

After some security questions he froze my account and informed me there would be an investigation but I shouldn't have logged in on a public or shared device.

I informed him that I only ever log in via my phone and have never given out my details to anyone.

He said he had escalated the investigation but couldn't give me any timeframe as to how long or what the outcome may be. Before the account was frozen I had enough time to get the email address that the account was changed into.

Surely they must be able to track the thief down with the info they are able to access. To access the money the thief must have a bank account verified or similar.

I also emailed the fraud investigation team directly to get any kind of idea as to what will happen but no reply as yet.

I am not bad mouthing NETELLER just yet just want to get anyone's opinions or experienced regarding neteller.

Thanks

Hello Brendan H. and welcome to AskGamblers!

I am very sorry to hear this, but unfortunately for all of us, this is not surprising at all.

I do not know very much, but let me share with you my poor knowledge and experience.

1. Money disappear from your Neteller account .. it is very possible that hackers tried to transfer the balance to some account ... same thing has happened to our dear member Afi and I believe it was about 1000 $.

It was last summer I think.

He is one of the top online gamblers and he withdrew a really amazing amount of money and made casinos suffering and I am not surprised that bad guys kept an eye on him here... because gambling industry is one of the biggest and I even think it reached its maximum last or this year.

Afi is VIP Neteller customer and if anyone account should be protected , I believe, it suppose to be VIPs accounts.

His personal VIP manager frozen his account and they returned stolen amount after 3 or even 4 months.

All I know is that BAD GUYS tried to do transfer to some account in France!

Afi will tell you the whole story but I am not sure if Neteller stuff did anything in order to apologize to Afi.

He was very, very upset.

2. SMS verification .. I cant guarantee but nowadays with ours so called SMART PHONES, things

doesn’t looks promising.

I believe its very easy to hack these phones, after all, they can track our location by satellite, well, obviously not mine anymore, because I use my father phone now, its old but very useful, they can track my IP, but not me anymore.

Take facebook for example ..if you use facebook msn on your smartphone you agree to the term that they can access your phonebook, msgs, loggs, they can spy on you by using your phone microphone and even make pics.

You can check it and see if  I am telling the truth.

Very often I hear people having viruses on their phones so to hackers, its a piece a cake to access anyone smartphone.

BETAT Casino website was down for days..because BAD GUYS tried to do the harm.

Imagine, website like BETAT Casino, that means these guys are serious.

3. I do think that Neteller should pay much more attention to their customers protection but ...it costs money and we live in the world where greedy guys taking advantage whenever and wherever they can.

SHAME ON THEM because they are making so much money anyway!

4. I really never had problems with Neteller support, the only time when I needed their help, I requested PHONE CALL which anyone can do, they called back within minutes.

I have entered wrong security answer and very kind lady called me and we cleared out what issue was about.

I would suggest you to request the phone call anytime you wish to ask and to request as many phone calls as you wish because its your right.

5. I just saw while carefully reading your post that you are accessing your Neteller account via phone.

I suggest you to buy some cheap phone like 5 euros worth and use it for sign in verification.

I suggest you also to make special email just to sign into your Neteller account, I would make it from some public IP using someones laptop.

P.S. A very close friend of mine, who lives in England, use to make thousands strong passwords so BAD GUYS having a hard time accessing it.

If you have question for him, I can ask him anything.

I am sorry that it will not be possible to use desired amount, but I strongly believe you will get your money bank.

6. ...And its much safer depositing via bank account .

I know my post will not return your money but please be patient and very careful in the future.

Have a nice day, regards from Bosnia and I hope we will get a chance to hear more about your gambling experience and make a cheers to happy end of this unfortunate event.

P.S. Would you like to stay with us, here is the topic to start our friendship http://www.askgamblers.com/forum/topic/46-introduce-yourself-to-the-world/page-46

Best of Luck !

Thank you for taking the time to give me that very helpful advice.

I have a mate that is very talented with computers and Internet security, he has informed me that they brute forced the account. I only use NETELLER because I can get nearly instant withdrawals on some sites I use bit I have found out the hard way it's not worth the few days wait instead.

I really wish I'd known there was a call back service but it was the first time I ever had to contact them in a hurry.

I will be using it by the end of the day if I have still not even received a courtesy email confirming the investigation.

I extremely persistent when it comes to matters of this nature and if they want to stall at all their customer service and investigation team will be hearing my voice while they sleep.

If they actually sort it out in a reasonable time frame I may let it go that they allowed someone to access my account, change email then clear it out without even noticing. I'm pretty sure a lot of people using their services will be closing accounts if that information went public.

I was looking forward to my first post here being about me having a nice win but that will have to wait.

Thanks again
