Stakes advice on online casino slots

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm pretty new to gambling but yesterday I figured that I'd try out some online casino slots. I deposited around $50 and my bets were $1-2 per spin. It only lasted for about 4-5 mins, lol.

Anyway, my question is: with such a low budget (say $50-100), how much should the stakes be for each spin? Perhaps $1-2 per spin a bit too much?

My main goal is to be able to win a few hundred of thousand bucks, with the chance of cashing out a big jackpot.

That's what people would call 'a big dream with a small budget'! 🤣

If you want big wins, then of course you need to play with big bets, but honestly speaking, it's almost impossible to win many thousands of dollars on $1 or $2 bets, unless you win a Jackpot prize. High rollers want to win big all the time, so their bets are usually at least $10 a spin, up to $100 and more even! The filthy rich players may be playing with over $1000 bets per hand (table games), but slot games have a much lower allowed max bet size, usually up to $100, or less.

If your budget is around $100, then you should be playing with 50 cents bets or less, or up to $1 per spin if you don't mind losing it all within minutes!

A hundred of thousands, i read as 100,000 etc🤪

Might need to manage expectations; ending up 500x your stake in a session is an achievement these days, so doing 1 a spin, be content if you send up with 600/550 on those bets.

Sure, you can hit a 1000x plus but they're quite rare to do so on slots.

2 dollars on a 50 deposit is too much IMO, personally i'd stick to 0.40 and see if you can build it up and then maybe up; sure, i've hit a decent bonus trying that method but if you do you're gonna encounter a lot of lost deposits before you do so and, even if you get a decent one, will find it may not even cover your losses up to that point.

I think most folk who play find their goal is to not lose a lot, let along win thousands 😉

Since you are new to gambling I would advice you to take deposit bonuses. And always start with 20 cent to max 50 cent if you play with 100-150 deposit amount. Also before depositing money always read bonus terms and conditions and check restricted games, deposit method for bonus, maximum bet, country restrictions and other rules. If you break the T&c you might lose all your winnings.

Hi JimieSitu and welcome to the forum! I think you've already been given pretty sound advice and I agree that your bets are far too high for the amount you've deposited. I'm not surprised you lost it quickly tbh.

And in fact, if you're pretty new to gambling then maybe you should even lower you bets to very minimum for the game you're playing and only raise them when you feel comfortable betting more. You need to find out which kind of games you like, which providers you like more and there's no way you'll get any time to do that properly on $2 bets!

Winning a life changing jackpot is not easy and you should know that chances are - that's never going to happen. I would most certainly lower your expectations for now and start learning more about which games you like.
