AskGamblers: Casino Information Management Question (e.g. Info published on King Billy)

Hi All,

How is the online casino information published on AskGamblers managed?
Each casino has a profile which include various types of information.
The information essentially can be classified into three groups:

1.  The operating entities characteristics and self-published information;
2.  Information that is authored by AskGamblers, whether this is written by a person or generated by the system automatically;  and
3.  End user (or customer) contributed information.

I'd like to know more about the information presented in the profiles that falls under category one.
The casino profiles summarise very useful information which is often summaries from the casino's public website including subsections like the terms and conditions pages.
The profile summaries include things like:

  • Casino status (e.g. open, closed, blacklisted);
  • Governance information (e.g. ownership, certification, jurisdiction);
  • Operating information (e.g. geographical limitations - not available to players from certain countries, partner programs, affliates);
  • Financial information (e.g. deposit methods, supported currencies, withdrawal times, limits);
  • Technical information (e.g. gaming software used, URLs,);
  • Gaming information (e.g. game providers, availability of games, bonuses); and
  • Support information (e.g. live chat, contact details);

How does an online casino get added to AskGamblers?
Once they have a profile,  how is this information populated in the first instance?
How is the information updated in an ongoing basis?
What constitutes information quality published on AskGamblers, and are there any quality assurance checks in place?  What are they?
How much influence does a casino operator have over their own profiles?

The reason why I am asking is multi-fold.  I think this website is amazing resource, one that has proven to be trustworthy and valuable.
The world of online gaming is murky and highly contested.  It is fraught with rogue operators and scam artists who have given the industry a terrible reputation.
Even genuine operators are marred with issues and complains.  Especially those from non-English speaking countries or operate without good communication practices.
Globally each government seems to want to have a crack at the industry, this is in addition to the fact that banks, payment providers and the underlying financial networks all want to have their influence and say over the industry (thank God for cryptocurrency, right?).

AskGamblers has helped so many people navigate these murky waters, put the rogue operators to shame and helped improved the industry's reputation.
Thank you guys!

However, if the published information is wrong, it can have a nasty effect, although I do understand that players should refer to the information published on the casino's website before making a decision.
But in practice this might not be so easy.  I arrived at these questions when I perused the King Billy profile:  https://www.askgamblers.com/online-casinos/king-billy-casino-review/
It states that the casino is not available to customers in Australia, when you login to the KB website you will see contrary information:

  • AUD is a supported currency;
  • Australian players are not excluded from registration; and
  • Australian players are not excluded from general play.  Australian players are only excluded from a small selection of clearly specified gaming providers and games that do not support this region.

 What is AskGambler's position on this?   Do we know why there is such a large discrepancy?  What are the steps to remediation?

Thank you for your time, I know there is a lot here, but I hope it helps stimulate some interesting convo:)

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Our reviews are written with accuracy at the time of writing and are regularly reviewed. However, as I am aure you are aware things in this industry change all the time. We update our reviews whenever we know there are changes but it is only natural for some changes to fall through the net.

This is why we have a fantastic feature called 'Suggest an edit'.  You can select this whenever you feel that something is not accurate in our review and a restricted country is the perfect reason to use this feature. I have attached a screenshot to show you where you can use the feature, please can you use it and suggest that Australian players are in fact allowed to play here.

Our team will pick up your suggestion and will review it. If indeed the casino does accept Australian players the review will be edited accoringly. Please allow some time for the team to look into it. Let me know if you need any further assistance anfd thank you for informing us of this.

When somebody asks me a question, I would normally give back a good answer, but when somebody pours out a 10-page questionnaire (like the above), I tend to run away as quickly as I can! 🤣

Even one question from the above list would require a loooong answer...what more hundreds of questions. (Sorry, don't mean to be rude, but such a post as yours turns me off unfortunately 😜)

I'm pretty sure I answered in a nutshell anyway...without the lengthy reply 🙂

Info published at point in time, may be periodic checks on the info but players etc are probably better placed to notify of changes eg country changes, or the change may be so big (eg. Vera John exit UK) that the site will pick up on it anyway.

er....and that's it.

Neigh on impossible to be 100% in certain areas - you could say, Hey Novibet have all their games on max RTP on Monday and on Tuesday they drop it to 92%, casinos may not accept UK (eg Voodoo never did) and then use their licence.

Across the web there are so many resources re casinos - literally 100's. It's harder to pick a bad casino to play at than a good one.

Thanks all,

apologies if the wall of text was off-putting, I guess I shifted over into 'work mode' as info management is one of my specialty areas haha 😛

But some useful responses, thank you!

One item I'd like to address now is the fact that I suggested an update to the geographic service availability, but it was rejected?
The update was just based on the facts from the website.

I think there is some misunderstanding on king Billy casino being promoted the forum in terms of awards. The best casino of the year 2019 and the best new casino for 2018 was given to king billy  The Direx n.v.  one but on forum King billy casino with n1 interactive has got  the banner of best new casino which only formed this year in 2020.

King billy have Curacao and operates under Dama N.V and Direx N.V. But i noticed they have a 2nd site, but most probably cater for other markets?

Curacao is the main license however, the other site might have different license. Similar like Scatter and sticky wilds casino who is the same casino basically.

I believe King Billy operate on the Malta License under N1 interactive tho.
