What’s the definition of “Daily Deposit Limit”?

Recommended Posts

What’s the definition of “Daily Deposit Limit”?

a. A set deposit limit based on a 24 hours period

b. A set deposit limit based on 1 calendar day (as displayed in transaction history)

c. A set deposit limit based on 1 calendar day (patron’s time zone)

d. A set deposit limit based on 1 calendar day (operator’s time zone)

e. Others?

Thanks

Can reset at 12pm, could be rolling over the 24hr period, think depends on casino.

Not too fussed about time zones as it won't make a difference if over 24 periods etc - just be careful of some casino's sneakily calling a loss limit, a deposit limit - 2 very different things.

I would operate on the assumption that it's option d. That's based mostly on my experience with promotion eligibility, though, as I usually play with small amounts and have rarely (if ever) come close to reaching any set deposit limit.

From my observations in several online casinos, my educated guess regarding deposit limits is more than likely somewhere along the lines of "whatever the player is willing to lose". I have seen people rifle through tens of thousands of dollars and spoke to quite a few, both online and in brick and mortar casinos like Las Vegas going back nearly 30 years.

Probably about six months back, I saw a guy from I believe Norway lose 20,000 Euros in an hour. I chatted with him for a while and found out he had just joined and started playing online a week or so prior. You could tell the guy was "green" by his betting habits (in this case blackjack) and his obvious mood swings. He told me he won 25,000 Euros his first session playing as he was making side bets of 20 up to 50 Euros for PP and 21  + 3 on every hand. Anybody who has played enough blackjack knows it is hard enough to win just playing straight up with huge win and lose streaks. Basically a roller coaster that requires a rather large bank roll and calm cool wits to grind it out.

Anyway, point being is that guy ended up doing that for several days in a row losing who knows how much. This casino does have a deposit limit but I honestly think this is just in line with their "gamble responsibly" banner which is conveniently ignored when it comes to the bottom line.

In conclusion, the answer to the OP topic of the definition of a daily deposit limit is "Whatever You Are Willing And Able To Lose."

My friend and business partner of over 20 years was a pit boss and later Director of Floor Operations in Las Vegas, Macau and Singapore for some large casinos and he always said this was standard policy. Why else would many casinos extend lines of credit or markers for certain individuals?
