I think I can safely say Playtech’s 8-paylines slots are the very best in the business. Fortunately Gold Rally falls into this category and not just because it has that much paylines but it is (would be) really an awesome game. It deals with the Gold Mining theme and does it with a great graphics and fine and funny symbols. Better saying, the funny mood pertains only the side image that illustrates 3 droll miners while the figures represents some gold mining tools like dynamite, scale, mining tram and gold. Of course we can’t speak here some pioneer visual or graphics solutions but in my opinion it’s a very decent work in every appearance detail and the interface perfectly fits for a mini-game.
But why Gold Rally is a unique game in a way is, this is a Progressive Jackpot slot. Maybe some of us wouldn’t expect this great attribute from such a little game like this but I suppose we wouldn’t complain about it (unfortunately, there’s another thing that we would about). This very rare opportunity when a player can happy about such prize comes when all visible 9 spots on the reels contain a Scale symbol and if the maximum number of lines were used, but if less than 8 lines were the bets on, it still pays x 5000 times of line bet which means a really huge amount at this slot. The product doesn’t offer Wild or free spin features but I think it’s understandable on the other hand has a bonus side game if 4 Dynamite symbols land on the 4 corner spots then on a secondary screen we can see a map and we have to pick two spots on it where we predict the most gold is hidden and after they reveal their instant cash prizes.
Naturally, as we’re used to it at real life, everything has a prize and in this case it’s a very costly one. The slot works with fixed €2 line bets so if we want a chance to win Jackpot our total stake must be €16!!! Incredible! I think this is the point where most of the players just turn away from this slot. I’d lie if I say I’ve played it more than once or twice because this stake would kill my usual bankroll in minutes without a question. I understand a Jackpot slot must be different but this bet amount is a very wrong measure in my opinion. Why it should be so high? Why can’t think of the average players?
So, I believe this slot would be much more popular without this very strict rule and the game itself would deserve it as it is a very good product so this is the only reason for my positive rate what would be higher if I just concentrate on the game itself and not the attached negative circumstances too. I’m a little bit angry of Playtech for this not too player-friendly regulation and hope they re-consider this policy.
