Vikings Quest Slot

Play for real money

Vikings Quest Slot is a Viking-themed 40-payline video slot running on the Microgaming software platform. The wild card is denoted by the word ‘Wild’, the main Bonus symbol is the Treasure Chest and the scatter is the Free Spins symbol. Players are welcome to try the slot on this page for free or visit any of the featured Microgaming casinos to play the game for real money.

To join the sprightly Viking boys and girls on their quest, players need to first adjust their wager. Clicking on the “Stake/Line” chooses the coin denomination, which ranges from 0.01 to 1. Pushing “Spin” starts the game and “Autoplay” spins the reels for a preset number of times without interruption.

Mega Win symbols can cover 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 symbol spaces on the reels, which creates multiple winning possibilities. If only one part of the Mega Win symbol is shown when the reels stop spinning, it can complete winning combinations if the symbol is on an active payline. Mega Win symbols can be regular symbols, which can be substituted by wilds, or they can be feature symbols, which trigger Bonus rounds.

In the Free Spin game, players win up to 16 Free Spins. Reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 become 1 reel, displaying Mega Win symbols. Mega Win 4x4 wild symbols are only available during the Free Spin round. Free Spins can be re-triggered during this bonus round.

A Salmon symbol is a Mega Win feature symbol and it activates the Gone Fishing Bonus game. In this round, players cast the rod to reveal random bonus winnings. The number of symbols that trigger the bonus indicates the number of times players can cast the rod. Players can win up to 16 casts at any time and prizes range between x80 and x4000 the stake per payline.

Another Mega Win feature symbol, the Treasure Chest, activates the Chest of Fortune Bonus game, wherein players select objects to uncover random bonus win amounts. The number of symbols that activate the round indicates the number of objects they can pick from. Each chest has a prize between x80 and x20,000 the stake per payline.

When 5 wilds emerge on an enabled payline, a jackpot of 1,000 coins will be won.

Game Play

Microgaming was inspired by Viking Quest fictional TV show, and even the games were created inspired by this show, so this video slot game as well. Overall, this video slot looks like a true cartoon and its characters (symbols) as well. It has 5-reels and 40-pay lines, and playable from 0.40 cents bet per spin.

When I came across this game, I thought there will be different ways to make money from, but it didn't look easy in triggering the wins, at least not easy for me. I have triggered a single win here and it was 5.05 Euros on my 0.40 cents bet. All symbols can appear as large symbols, and that is where you can make some money. If the large symbol matches the symbol on the 1st reel, it means you win. It's a very funny game when the fisherman is trying to catch his fish, and if none of them disturbs, you can win the maximum prize if you can reach the bottom of the ocean.

I triggered the bonus 'Gone Fishing' pretty fast and that changed my mind about this game. The 'cute' shark appeared as a large icon and gave me four chances to get the maximum prize win. You need only a single Scatter in order to win the 'Gone Fishing' Bonus game and it's a positive thing here. Getting two or more Scatters mean you have more attempts to collect as much as possible of the coin prizes.

The same rule applies to the Free Spins game. Only a single Scatter symbol will activate 1 free spin and you need 16 free spins symbols in order to activate the maximum of 16 free spins that are possible here. The Large symbols appear in the Free Spins game and you can make some decent wins if you're lucky enough. Unfortunately, I couldn't trigger the other bonus game, the 'Chest of Fortune'.

Vikings quest is another interesting slot worth trying with lots of interesting features. This slot uses Vikings as its main theme, but they are not some fearsome warriors in this slot but cartoon children.

This is a 5 reel slot and 40 pay lines with 6 theme related symbols. There is a jester, a hammer, a shield and three young Vikings. The big red wild is the wild symbol and there are 3 scatter symbols, the free spins symbol, the salmon and the treasure chest.

In this game you will see that all icons can appear as Mega Icons and they can cover 2 x 2, 3 x 3 and 4 x 4 symbol positions. These mega icons can bring you some good wins. Every time you land a free spins symbol you receive 1 free spin. If you land 2 free spins symbols you receive 2 free spins and this can go up to 16 free spins symbols and 16 free spins in this slot. There are some big wins during the free spins too, due to the fact that reels 2 to 5 will be mega icons you will only need a symbol on the first reel that will match the big symbol to the right. During this round you can trigger more spins too.

There are also 2 different bonus rounds in this slot. The first one is Chest of Fortune bonus. If you land one or more treasure chests anywhere on the reels and you have to choose one chest which hides a multiplier. The second bonus is the Gone Fishing bonus. This bonus is triggered by one or more scatter symbols. The more scatters the more attempts you will have to catch fish. The fish that are deeper are worth more, they have higher multiplier. This game offers a lot of variety but the thing is that the payouts are not that high during the base game.

Not quite new game I think it was released last year, with Viking theme, made from Big Time gaming, launched on Microgaming software, pretty much looks alike to other game I have played from different provider. Very cartoonish game, which satisfied my taste, don’t know why, but always fan of such slots so yet another game I played it whenever I have chance to play. Viking Quest is a 5 reel with 40 pay lines video slot, where the minimum bet takes from 0.40 cents.

So yes not so cheap slot to play, but looking for its pay table I think its worth of trying, which by my opinion has much to offer. Viking Quest has 2 bonus rounds and free spins feature and of course the free spins feature is something I look forward to it, but we all know that sometimes even after 100 spins that wont happened, well sometimes even more.

The first bonus round, called Chest Of Fortune Bonus, so it will be triggered if only 1 chest lands anywhere on the reels, so the more the better, so you'll need to open if more to pick the treasure chest to reveal the multiplier of the line stake. The other bonus round is called Gone Fishing Bonus, so landing at least one of the fishes anywhere on the reels, but the point is where the fish will be, more deeper, the more bigger the multiplier can reach till 4000 X you bet size.

So the last thing is the free spins feature, a bit odd but I guess having luck could bring you up to 16 free spins. So how many free spins symbols appear, example if two of them, you will be rewarded with 2 free spins etc. While playing the free spins round the Mega Icon will appear but only on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th reel and the winnings can be really big, but only if the symbols will match. I have played this game many times so far didn't triggered something big, I know it has potential of big win, but still will continue to play, I might be lucky some day.
Vikings quest it is Microgaming video slot, it is in its portfolio, but game created by big time gaming, or something like this. Was not hard to know that game created not by Microgaming, because at main playing window it is written that game by big time gaming. This game is very similar to Spinata Grande, and I like Netent game more than this one.

Game looks good and very decent, I do like it. Everything is made nice, even sounds are good, and bonus game here is also very beaty, no complaints from me. Also in this slot game there is 40 paylines.

At this game wilds appears on all reels, but wilds do not have any multiplayer, but they still very important, due to specific collosal symbols on this slot. During base game some symbols(if not all) can be collosal, and if with wild there can be really good payout(but does not wait anything huge from base game hits, payouts there even lower than at Spinata Grande). By the way even wild symbol can be collosal, so you still can wait something like probably 50-100 x total bet during base game.

There is couple of features at this slot. First feature it is gone fishing, less interesting for me. Depending of the amount of bonus symbols which appear on screen (it can be up to 16, if really big collosal symbol will appear) - you will have up to 16 casts in bonus game. Each cast you catch one fish, from 2x total bet, to 10x total bet. Max payout is 160x total bet then, but my best payout was 20x total bet...Had it about 5 times, and it is really boring and low paying.

Second feature is bonus game picking chests, also depends to number of symbols which will appear. Can pay huge, but my best result was about 50x total bet.

And third one it is freespins, up to 16 freespins can be awarded. Freespins is great. First reel is regular, and at all other reels there each freespins will land huge collosal symbols. Get there wild - and you in the money. Had two freespins features more than 100 x total bet.

Game is dynamic and interesting, but unfortunately payouts in bonus game are sucks. Also payouts during base game quite low, not very nice. But overall I am like this game.
Quite low payouts during base game, and overall payouts can be higher.
Big Time Gaming? We keep seeing these new eGaming companies popping up left and right. While I was under the impression this new game Viking Quest was produced by Microgaming, I seemed to be wrong once again. The fact this game gets offered under the Microgaming Quickfire solution usually means I’m easily mistaken.

After doing some digging into the company, I found out that they were also responsible for some other games I’ve played in the past like Gold and Temple's Quest. Anyway, most players don’t really care at all about who produced a video slot, as long it’s fun right?

Well, Viking Quest is another game with a brilliant new concept that has also been showcased in Temple Quest. With the recent release of Spinata Grande from NetEnt, (we all know where they got their inspiration from right?), there is no doubt in my mind that they got inspired by Big Time Gaming when producing that slot.

Viking Quest contains 5-reels, 4-rows and 40-paylines. The minimum bet on this game is 40 cents. The main characteristic I’m talking about though when I made the comparison to Spinata Grande is the existence of colossal/mega symbols.

This game is full of them as well. These mega symbols can take 2x2, 3x3 or even 4x4 positions on your screen. The special type of symbols included in this game are wilds, free spins (scatter), salmon (bonus) and treasure chest (bonus). So bottom line is that there is a lot on offer here with this game.

Especially if you consider that there are up to 16 free spins for grabs. I didn’t get to experience the bonus games yet unfortunately. Only once did I manage to trigger the free spins. In total I got awarded 12 free spins and from those spins I only won 30x bet despite. The problem was that the mega symbols on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 often didn’t match what I received on reel 1. This can be quite frustrating while you’re watching your screen full of hope.

So you could argue that my results weren’t anywhere near satisfying. But then again I only played Viking Quest for around 200 spins before moving to the next slot. My base game wins weren't nice either with 15x bet as top prize.

So maybe it’s too early to make a judgement about this Viking themed slot? I will probably give it another try sooner or later to experience the bonus features as well.
The mega symbols or colossal symbols clearly do have a downside as well. They can block other combinations, and if this happens too often it's quite unpleasant.

Of course when Microgaming wants to make good games, it can! It always managed to do this, maybe just a few of its latest slots were exceptions. But now with this “Viking Quest” it seems that these casinos have re-taken the good habit of bringing pleasure to the players. Although, I am not entirely convinced that this is not a BigTime Gaming slot and that AskGamblers have not mistaken.

Viking Quest is certainly a slot about Vikings, but here these Vikings are only children. A girl with a wreath, a boy with a Viking helmet, a joker and a couple of minor symbols (all Viking) are present here. I played at a slot of this type (5x4) with large symbols first time about 2 months ago all in a Bigtime Gaming casino and for me that slot seemed to be great. I have not seen before such a game and the play was very exciting. To have so many 3x3 or 4x4 extended symbols is great. A single complete extended symbol brings you a terrible win (presented in the upload above). And there are also a lot of paylines, giving you the impression that you are playing at a slot with all ways win.

But everything good always has also negative parts. Here for example the negative part is that one is paying 40 cents a bet and one must have four major symbols on a line to win equal to the bet. So you are dealing with a slot stingy not about wins, but about payouts. Yup, of course when you have a 4x4 extended symbol the total win is great, but all other wins are only 2-10 cents. This is too bad.

As a particular fact, just as in the previous slot here one enters the Bonus and the Free Games only when one has on screen a part of the entire extended corresponding symbol (4x4). This happens not very often and you have to wait sometimes over 100 games for it. But when it happens you get that bonus (Gone Fishing) and if you are handy if can win very nice, because you just have to throw the fishing line at the right moment to have the highest payout. I could not enter the Free Spins, but in bonus I caught a couple of times a “fat” fish.

This is a nice slot where the risk is bigger, but also the reward is nicer.
Even if you have five symbols of the same type if they are only minor you win 1x bet.
