The Great Ming Empire is a very simple slot where the lines pay left to right and right to left. This is a game from Playtech with 5 reels and only 5 pay lines. I like to play simple slots from time to time. These kinds of games allow you to enjoy a gaming experience and you are not disturbed from all those complex features. I remember the first time I played this game I got a big win which was only 10 x bet, but I thought to myself, if this big wins come on regular basis it would be great. You will not win anything huge but at least they will not let your balance drop very fast.

There is only one bonus in this game and that is the Treasure Room Bonus. There are different scatters in this game, 3 to be exact, and you need to land them on consecutive reels to trigger the bonus. Once you activate the bonus you are taken to a room where you will find items of treasure and you have to pick 3 to reveal cash prizes. This is a very good bonus because every time I was getting around 50 x bet or 100 x bet. Once I even found the one that was hiding the highest amount in this bonus which was 27 euros.

This is a good game if you are lucky enough. The wild symbol will pay 2000 x bet if you land 5 on an active pay line. I have not seen this yet, but I will be definitely spending more time playing the Great Ming Empire. This game is great for me, I know it will not make me rich but it is good when I need a little boost on my balance. I would recommend this slot to anyone and I think that it is a great addition to the oriental themed slots.

China's past is full of epic stories that speak of wisdom, honor and courage, glories and defeats, enough material to inspire a good movie and, of course, a good game; in this case "Playtech" has used the penultimate dynasty of China, Ming Dynasty, as the basis of its slot "The Great Ming Empire"; this dynasty is one of the best known because during this period, between 1368 and 1644, China had one of the most stable societies in the history of mankind and also development of large construction projects such as the Grand Canal, Chinese wall and the magnificent Forbidden City; so all that history has been reflected in summarized form on the few images in this slot of 5 x 3 reels and only 5 paylines, where all standard symbols pay for combinations from 2 of a kind in both directions, from left to right and right to left; the total number of symbols is 11 which can be divided into three groups as follows: one symbol wild, 3 different scatters and 7 standard symbols; prices contained on the paytable are quite reasonable considering that we are talking about a total bet of only 5 credits per spin.

Overall the game system is very dynamic, I do not remember having suffered long streaks of turns without hits, this mainly due to the short lines of 2x, however, payouts are usually small because the symbols most abundant are the symbols of letters, and these symbols not only have the lowest payouts of the game but they also cannot be substituted by the wild symbol since it replaces only symbols of emperor and princess, nearly this wild ends up being a standard symbol more. The most common scenario in this game is to see how our balance go down slowly, so that our best move is to increase our level of bet but very slowly until we hit a line of 5 of a kind with the image of emperor or princess, or perhaps also a line of 4 of a kind with wild symbol which incidentally it is the best paid symbol of the game; I say that making these lines is our best chance to get a big win since do it through "The Treasure Room Bonus" round does not seem very likely because on one hand it is difficult to be triggered because there are 3 different scatters responsible for triggering the same feature, but also you need at least 3 identical scatters appear and additionally they must occur on 3 consecutive reels; on the other hand 3 scatters pay the prizes at a rate of 1x, 4 at 3x and 5 at 10x, so, if it is not easy to trigger a round with only 3 scatters now you can imagine how hard it would be to do it with 4 of them; and to give you an idea, my bonus rounds were always paid at 1x and my prizes always close to 10x my total bet, not too much, so I wouldn’t set all my hopes on this feature. Despite all this I think "The Great Ming Empire" is not a bad slot, its RTP of 96.15% is well justified because occasionally you can get a Big Win from a hit of 4 or 5 of a kind with one of the three highest symbols of the paytable, at least that happened to me when I hit a line of 5 of a kind with the image of princess with help of two wild symbols, my winnings were higher than 100x my total bet and by then my bet level had been increased about 6 times, enough to leave the game with a good profit.
- It's a slot of only 5 lines and wild symbol does not substitute all standard symbols, only emperor and princess.

- 3 different scatters to trigger the same feature means many scatters spinning on the reels decreasing the probability of standard symbols to form more normal lines.
