5 Knights Slot

Play for real money

5 Knights is a 25-payline video slot running on the NextGen Gaming software platform. This knight-themed game’s wild card is the Shield and the scatter is the Castle. Players can try the slot on this page for free or choose any of the NextGen Gaming casinos from the listings to play the game for real money.

To join this medieval knight tournament, players first need to choose their bet. The “Lines” +/- buttons select the number of active paylines and clicking “Max” selects all the paylines. The coin size, ranging from 0.02 to 4, is altered by clicking the “Bet” +/- buttons, while “Max” selects the highest coin size. “Spin” starts the game and “Autoplay” spins the reels multiple times uninterrupted.

Pressing the “Gamble” button lets players increase their winnings. If they guess the colour of the face-down card correctly, the sum is doubled and guessing the suit quadruples the amount. However, wrong guesses will lead to the loss of the sum. Should players wish to terminate the feature, they can click on the “Take Win” button and save their winnings.

This slot has a special feature called Slide a Wild, which enables players to use the onscreen slider in order to select any reel and thus enhance it with stacked wilds and wild multipliers.

When 3 or more scatters appear on the reels, 15 Free Games are won. In this feature, all prizes are doubled. Free Spins can be re-triggered.

Medieval legends are a theme for many online slots. I don’t think there is a single software provider that hasn’t made a slot game with this theme. My all time favorite is Coat of Arms from RTG and I had some great wins in this game. When I saw that NextGen has a slot like that I knew I just had to give it a try.

5 knights is a 25 payline, 5 reel slot with a bit more solid graphic than other NextGen slots. The overall design of the game is attractive and the symbols look like they were taken from some medieval story about knights in shining armor. The game also has some great animations like when arrows are shot at the knight who is defending himself with a shield or the horseman who appears on the stacked wild reel. Overall this is a fun slot to play from the visual side.

This slot also offers two bonus features. The first feature isn’t quite a classical bonus but is more as a booster with a chance to have bigger wins. There is a slider on top of the reels and when you position it over one reel you can get stacked wilds on that reel only, extra wilds and wild multiplier which can go up to 6. This feature can bring some nice wins from time to time. A few times I have gotten the highest paying Knight symbol on the first 3 reels and stacked wilds with a multiplier on the fourth. The second bonus is a free spins bonus which is triggered when you get 3 scattered castles anywhere on the reels. You get 15 free games with all wins doubled and the wild slider is still active. The free spins can be retriggered and this happens often. In average from 4 bonus features at least 1 is retriggered.
You can have some nice wins in this game but I can’t say that it produces some big wins. The most I have won in the bonus round is only 60 x bet.

I play here at “5 knights” for about 30 minutes now and I still wonder how was called that movie on TV from a few years ago where a countryside man from medieval England turns into a Knight and defeat them all at the tournament. Kind of “Once upon a time” as I can remember, but when I searched on Google for this I found dozens of movies with this name. Even if I am wrong not the name matters, but the story itself.

If you play here after only 5 minutes you feel like you are back in the past and witness a true tournament from ancient times. Each spin is like a new round of the knights who confronts in the tournament. I will make a digression now, and I will say that I was one of those that once visited an old English castle, where only the Lord and Lady lived (peasants were sleeping in the castle courtyard when their homes were under siege), and which defended by its presence the welfare of so many hundreds of ordinary people in medieval England. Yes, I saw real armor and simulated tournaments like they were 800 years ago, and a few moments it was like I went back in time. And now playing here at “5 knights” it was like this happened a second time.

This is a perfect slot, a slot where the Lord and Lady are prime symbols and the Knight's shield is Wild and also multiplier. And even more, there is a cursor that can be placed over a selected reel so that the reel becomes sometimes extended Wild. From the experience I had with a similar slot I positioned the Wild slider on reel 2. On reel 1 the earnings are too low, on reels 3,4 and 5 the wins are increasingly rare. And guess what? Big wonder. After 200 spins and 100 Euro played I had an advantage of over 25 Euro. (Maximum I lost a certain time was 5 Euro). This is what I call a slot, an unprecedented battle in which the Knights fill your pockets!

The game is great and I say thank you once again and only because I have witnessed again a real tournament from the medieval England 800 years ago.
This observation is identical to that I made in other reviews of NextGen slots. These slots are too small on the screen and cannot be expanded. It is a shame that a slot so beautiful will lose on its aspect only due to this (the game is too small even in real casinos, not only in its AskGamblers page).
5 Knights is a video slot powered by NextGen Gaming. Although the theme and inspirational background melodies do sound somewhat appealing, I can’t find myself playing this game again to be honest. If you’re a recreational player who simply doesn’t care about the wins and is more out for playtime, then 5 Knights might be the right choice for you.

But if you would like the possibility to win big, then I definitely can’t recommend proceeding with this one. The payouts are simply piss poor to put it bluntly. It’s a shame because I really think NextGen could have turned this game into an instant classic if they paid a bit more attention to the paytable. The highest combination only pays 500 coins for a 5oak. So that pretty much says enough.

5 Knights contains 5-reels, 3-rows and 25-paylines. I played this game recently and it wasn’t much of a success unfortunately. I often don’t bother to check for the paytable, but sometimes you just wish you did. The slot is decorated with various symbols including castles (scatter), knights, weapons, princess, shields (wild) and various high value card symbols.

I played 5 Knights on the minimum bet size of 25 cents per spin. Furthermore, it also has the “Slide a Wild” feature which some NextGen games are known for. You can pick on which reel stacked wilds can appear. The stacked wilds have a 2x multiplier on reel 1 and move up a notch with every other reel ending with a 6x multiplier on reel 6.

During base game not much was happening for me. Only marginal wins despite the help of the stacked wilds. I managed to lose around 30 euros quite fast all on minimum bet. 5oak combinations seem to be extremely rare unless we're talking about lame card symbols. During base game the max hit would be 3,000 coins basically when moving the slide Wild to reel 6. Still not very impressive in my opinion.

What about the free spins you might wonder? Well, you need 3 or more scatters to trigger 15 free spins with a 2x multiplier. Taking into account the above scenario, then the max win would be 6,000 (12 x 500) coins when getting 5oak of the knight symbol.

Still not good enough to really considering investing money in this game. I only managed to win like 20x bet during free spins and never more than 15x during base game. So yeah I'll try forget this game ever existed.
One of the most terrible paytables I ever seen. Forget about winning big on this one!
