“I thought I was marking 46 and marked 48 instead,” he said. “If I had my glasses, we wouldn’t be millionaires.”

“I thought I was marking 46 and marked 48 instead,” he said. “If I had my glasses, we wouldn’t be millionaires.”

B. Guffey said he has been playing the lottery tickets since it started in 1989 because he thinks it's a fun bit of contest. He called it his "thing" — a vice rather than alcohol or cigarettes. Over the years, he said he has probably won US$ 5,000 on different tickets, and now it sums to US$ 3,005,000.

B. Guffey always played the same Hoosier Lottery numbers, a mixture representing ages and months of his children birthdays.

But when he was filling in his ticket for the August, 06 drawing of the Hoosier Lotto game, it was dark and he couldn’t find his eyeglasses.

He didn't recognize that the last number he marked accidentally was "48" instead of his usual "46."

A mistake in marking his numbers resulted in a US$ 3 Million Jackpot Win on Hoosier Lotto.

“I thought I was marking 46 and marked 48 instead,” he said. “If I had my glasses, we wouldn’t be millionaires.”
The Guffeys plan to payoff their home and travel to fabulous Hawaii. They would also like to go to Australia in next few years. Trust funds have been set up for their 5 children.
“We’ve just been very blessed,” said Janell, Bobby's wife. “We’re going to continue to help others. We feel like that’s why we’ve won.”
