Bookmaker's Review Founder to Launch Domain Auction Website

Posted on August 19, 2009 by Martin Bellows

Last week we have reported on the sale of the veteran sportsbetting information site Bookmaker's Review by founder Pierluigi Buccioli to the American owned but BVI-registered company Seven Media Group. On the heels of that announcement, Bucceioli has revealed his next enterprise - an online live domain auction site branded GamblingInvest.com.

The venture has its roots in parent firm Domain Invest Limited, where Buccioli is chief executive officer, and the concept is to create a marketplace for the buying and selling of gambling-related domain names.

The Internet entrepeneur says that the venture took shape after he had searched the Internet for a gambling domains auction site but found nothing suitable. Now, he plans to launch GamblingInvest.com at an affiliate marketing conference next (September) month. Buccioli is currently building up stock by inviting would-be domain sellers to send him their 'for sale' lists for auction on the site.

All sales are to be handled through Moneybookers' Escrow service to guarantee security for sellers and buyers, and Buccioli plans to publish the first auction's catalogue around the end of August.

"I'm confident I'll put together at least 200 premium gambling domains for our first live auction event," said Buccioli, who added that he is already considering a further auction at an affiliate conference scheduled for London early in 2010.
