Tally Ho is an action themed game but without the action! It has the infamous British Spitfire planes flying across the screens but there are no Nazi planes in sight for air combats, hence no action. Ah well, just enjoy the sights of those lovely fighter planes and the accompanying 1940's musical background. It gives a nostalgic feeling to some. Wish the graphics were much better though. 1 star down.

The Fighter pilot is the Wild symbol, and as usual, it doesn’t pay for itself, and it doesn’t multiply any wins either. The Roundel (the British Air Force Insignia) is the Scatter symbol and pays 200 x the total bet for 5 of them. The Spitfire is the highest paying symbol at 10000 x the line bet for 5-of-its-kind. Pity the Wild symbol doesn’t do anything more than just to substitute other symbols for wins. 1 star down.

Even though a free spins feature game is all there is in Tally Ho, the free spins themselves are a delight to get. 3 or more of the Roundels symbols award 25 free spins, and every 3 or more of the Roundels appearing during the free spins game award another set of 25 free spins! There is no limit to the number of retriggers possible, but in truth, that’s just not possible. Nevertheless, I’ve won 3 retriggers before, for a total of 100 free spins, and it is just possible to achieve maybe up to 150 or more free spins, if you’re lucky enough. A very good feature of Tally Ho, despite the lack of any other feature games. No star down/up.

Unlike Triple Toucan, which requires 3 times the patience to play the game, Tally Ho is a surprisingly nice game to play and enjoy. The free spins may come at far intervals, but never as far apart as in Triple Toucan, and getting the free spins always bring in some excitement. To start off, there’s a lovely 25 free spins to play with, all wins are tripled, and each retriggering will award another super 25 free spins. No other game that I know of can give this many free spins! The 100 free spins that I won in one of my plays paid out a lovely 120 x my total bet, and that was without any single big win in any of the free spins. Getting 5 Spitfires, for example, would win triple the 10000 x line bet, for a fantastic 1500 x total bet win! Pity that the Wild symbols do not expand on the reels, as in Triple Twister for example, which would make Tally Ho another big hit for RTG. No star down/up.

The name of “Tally Ho” is given to two totally different slots : one can be found in RTG casinos and the other is found in Microgaming casinos. This review is for the slot “Tally Ho” from the RTG casinos which is one of the 20 lines slots with the highest possible volatility. Although this slot is even worse than Fruit Frenzy (another slot from RTG ) it was my number 2 slot where I stopped when I was playing in an RTG casino about one or two years ago.

Briefly, the theme slot is probably the Battle of Britain when Germany wanted to gain the air supremacy over the English sky and only the courage of the British pilots prevented this to happen. Still there are about 75 years since then, which one need to recognize, is a lot.

A large volatility in the RTG acceptance actually means just higher losses and generally very, very small given wins, and only too rare an exceptional win. To give a comparison term, playing with the bet of 20 cents, all wins are generally about 10 cents, and just very rarely a win has a value of 1-2 Euro. What I definitely not liked here is that after each spin I had on the reels only minor symbols accompanied by just 1-3 major symbols. I ask myself, how one can have a higher win when on all reels there are never more than 3 major symbols! And also when the Wild symbol (which is very rare) appears only on reels 2,3 or 4? It is true, the Scatters (“Target”) exist here, but they appear only by 2 each time. Less than once in 150 spins you will have 3 scatters to start the 25 Free Spins. And when at last you will enjoy that you got to play these Free Spins (with a 3x multiplier) you will find again that in the end you have won nothing!

Playing at this slot is just lost time and money wasted for nothing (even when you just play a bonus given by the casino). This slot receives a rating appreciation and even less than the “Fruit Frenzy” slot.

Tally Ho, a fun filled 9 paylines video slot of Gentlemen Foxes, female foxes being lady-like drinking their teas in bliss while the displayed surroundings are a place where everyone will think to dream of, a luxurious mansion surrounding the essence of materialistic wealth. Ahh the rich life! Sandwiches, biscuits, crackers & cheese are what you can look forward to....including a Wild Horse that neighs gracefully for every win it comes close to. Isn't she one of the nicest animals that "doubles" in interest? Tally Ho is a very old slot that can be surprising over time!

My bets staked for $0.54 a spin. I tried it initially for $0.90 max bet and as always every video slots seems to hate when there is too much on their plates. Not much can be collected for $0.90 so $0.54 bets were enough to cut my costs and deliver the wealth. Most spins do tend to go for no cash values but this slot has it's way of surprising me at some point. Well, Well, 3 lady foxes drinking tea greeted by a majestic horse. A nice $12.24 win! Did I gamble it? Yes, sir/ma'am under the gamble feature. As I was feeling lucky I chose Red, I waited for the card to flip over in a bit of fear to know what it will unfold and later.....showed me a Red Heart. Now I have $24.48! I felt lucky to do one more round then I guessed Red again, who would have thought that the next card turned out to become the Red Diamond! Right after my two lucky guesses I went forth to collect the prize of $48.96!!! Wins in double digits come out randomly but there are smaller wins to harvest on Tally Ho.

The Free spins are an irresistible 10 Free spins at 4x! The only thing for me to look out for are these free spins to not go to waste! I would willingly feed these wasted free spins to the hounds to improve there barking...if some came! $21.30 for my $0.54 triggering bet came from them and I was more than happy to feed the Wild Horses putting some emphasis on my combinations. A refreshing but good 8.2 out of 10 for Tally Ho!
