Today brings sad news as Odobo announce they have closed

June 1, 2016.

It is unfortunate that we have to bring you some sad news today. The online gambling software developers Odobo have announced their closure as their costs have out spaced their growth.

Five good years in the industry

If you loved playing at your favourite online casino and heading for their Odobo games we regret to inform you that as of May 31st the company has ceased all transactions. Odobo have been in operation for five good years but they have come to the very difficult decision to close down. The company posted a message on their website informing players of their closure, which is due to its apparent inability to scale the business.

We’re certainly sad to see them go here at AskGamblers

Odobo will close both of their offices in Gibraltar on June the 10th. They launched back in 2011 and specialized in producing HTML5 casino games, ones we have all grown to know and love. Their mission statement at the time was to “disrupt and improve the way games are produced, distributed, marketed and enjoyed in regulated gaming.”

The company’s perspective

A spokesperson at Odobo commented “marketplaces like ours require wider scale to survive in an increasingly complex and fragmented regulatory landscape.” They also said that “the velocity with which the business was growing was outpaced by the costs associated with providing the services that Odobo offered.”

It is believed that earlier this year the company was searching for other revenues to help them from the brink, but unfortunately with no success. It was only in January of this year the company celebrated adding Mr Green Casino to the list of operators which already included top-tier casinos like Betfair CasinoGala Casino and Bet365 Casino.

As a final last word Odobo said its decision to shut down was “not taken lightly and we sincerely regret that it affects the partners and clients that have supported us.”

From all the team at AskGamblers we wish them the very best for the future and thank them for five great years in the industry.
