  1. Im having nothing to do with it mate im just wondering if anyone can scam you using details such as your bank no, address, dob and name? I seem to be presented with situations such as this more than i'd like and i always wonder the same thing - HOW can they scam me with just this info? This forum seems pretty cool btw thanks guys for replying
  2. Sorry for the triple post, another update. After talking with this guy most of the day i've come to the conclusion hes an extremely good scammer, his background stories and answers are all spot on but when i asked him how i would get the money tomorrow he said 'easy, il withdraw it to your bank via the account iv made with your details' sounds straight forward enough but then i asked hows that possible because i bet with paddypower, ladbrokes, bet365 etc online all the time and they take like 3-5 days to withdraw. He basically laughed off that idea and said online casinos couldnt do business that way and promised me it could be withdrawn within 1-2 hrs as it was not a bank transfer. He then hung up and went back to txting me, hes now gone for 'dinner' and asked me for my full name, dob, address, bank no and sort code. For future reference is there anything harmful that can be done with that info? He even suggested i empty my bank acc so im reassured hes not scamming me
  3. Ok change of plan the guy just rang me there, hes english, sounds about 20-25 years old. He ran me through it and im tryna figure out how i can get scammed via this, basically he says hes got a friend who works at the casino and he just transfers money to new accounts as a 'bonus' tho its withdrawable. basically the guy who rang me meets me in town, transfers the money to my account and i withdraw splitting 50/50 even if he took all of the money, thats all iv got to lose surely? or can my credit/bank be affected? why are scams so complicated these days ffs
  4. Hahah ultimate gambler i just read all of that, what a laugh haha well done. Yeh im assuming its a scam and didnt think of playing the guy along like ultimate did, i just told him to beat it thanks guys
  5. Hey so i was looking online for jobs on gumtree and saw a guy hiring bar staff, asking to be contacted via text only. So i text him asking was he still looking staff etcetc and he had text me back almost immediately saying no sorry, all roles have been filled but 'if you're still interested in making money let me know' Immediately this screamed scam to me but i asked what 'making money' entailed and he said he deals in bank transfers for a company called mfortune and he needs people to withdraw into their bank accounts, which we would withdraw together and take 50% each. He then said he'd need to call me and was pretty persistant, i told him i'd call him tomorrow if im interested. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it a trick/scam? cheers
