I agree, better to play in a casino that allows small bets, start with a really small bankroll so you are under pressure from the start and see how you handle it. Treat the small bets like a percentage of a bigger bankroll, if you do well, it is likely you will do well with a bigger bankroll. Just my opinion anyway.

Blackjack all the way here, not a big fan of any of the slots games. Not that I have given them a big go at any time. I am not a bonus hunter and I know slots tend to be one of the only 100% contributors.

32Red and Betfred are the where I have had my best experiences and biggest wins. I mainly play Blackjack and never take bonuses so I am probably a bit different to most in that regard.
