NYX Interactive & NextGen Gaming difference

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what is the difference between NextGen Gaming and NYX Interactive? Are there a difference because it seems like they release more or less the same games or modified versions, or i dont know. Can anyone here give more info?

Also i saw on certain sites that certain games are classified under different provider. For instance : Trada Casino has Foxin Wins (NextGen or NYX) - but for some reason i cannot play it as it seems licensed under Quickfire or that is how the game screen loads which makes it kinda a microgaming slot - And my country are restricted from playing microgaming slots, but i can play Foxin WIns on any Skillonnet casino, videoslots, slots million you name it.

Thanks in advance.

" NextGen Gaming is our Sydney-based studio and the world’s leading independent supplier of innovative games to the gambling industry.". They are also integrated on the Quickfire platform (Instant play Microgaming), so whether you can play NextGen/NYX slots depends on the casino software platform.

As I see it, Nextgen is a game developer and NYX is a group that offers platform services to online and land based casinos to run different software brands - Open Platform Services "OPS" - . They have now bought Open Bet, and some time ago Open Bet games were already running on NYX platform as well as Nextgen.

In addition, NYX offers services different to Nextgen as: casino, poker, sportsbook, bingo, social gaming and lottery as they expose on their website: http://www.nyxgaminggroup.com/platforms

OMG! I've always thought the same thing too. NextGen are one of my favourite providers of games always have been! I've just always assumed they are the same company and never really looked into it!

Thanks for this great thread and all the answers guys.

About the Quickfire bit, Microgaming license the instant play technology to other game providers to allow their slots to integrate with sites that already offer Microgaming games. It's "middleware" that translates the input/output from the slot machine into a format the casino can already understand, saving them a bunch of cash having to create a new interface for every company who produces slots.

Microgaming must be laughing all the way to the bank, but hey I guess as they were the dominant platform early on in on-line casino lifetime they deserve a little respect!
