Poker and Sportsbook?

Recommended Posts

Never thought poker and sportsbook were in the same category! In fact some years back, I thought sports betting wasn't gambling at all but nowadays am of the opinion that's soft gambling. This  only applies if you bet  in your favourite sport(the sport that you know the most)!

Hehe, good point... :)

Well, I guess you have already noticed that here we are mostly focused on video slots and that is the main reason why all other kinds of gambling like poker, sports betting, bingo, keno, etc are not quite popular across the forum. And that is of course the main reason why put these into a separate forum section we called "Other Gambling Talk".

Nope  :D  No sport, no fitness just a mum to 2 girls and a little boy in a few weeks! I'm their biggest fan

Oooh gotta love kids man. I have 2 myself ,1 boy and 1 girl. The boy are at the questioning stage - which is fine, but the hard part about it is not knowing the answers and you get upset at your kids for asking these question because you don't know the answers.

Im thinking of the 3rd one, but me and Wifey wanna travel the world a bit first.

BTW congrats...

My congratulations. I also have a kid, a boy 3 years old

I often travel due to my job. Last time I've been to Montevideo, Uruguay. They have a pretty nice casinos there. Played a roulette and poker there. Won some, lost some but anyway had a good time  :D

Another logical reason to have poker and sports betting in their own section is that they are the two gambling contests waged against other players rather than against the house.  For example, the sportsbook does not care which team wins as long as the betting is balanced.  They make the house's money on the vig - the disparity between what they pay out to the winners and what they keep from the losers.  Ultimately the sports bettor is competing against his fellows by way of having to bet into a line, established by the cumulative judgment as to which team will prevail.  Poker is a similar contest of skill among the players; the casino makes it's money by raking the pots or renting the table and dealer by the hour.
