Tipping when sitting at bar playing video poker

Me and my wife like to go to Cripple Creek to play video poker and slots, and of course, get free drinks. I usually tip a dollar a drink, and when on the floor, I just drop the money on the server's tray. But when I'm sitting at the bar being served by the bartender, should I just toss the tip to him, or should I put the tip in the tip jar?? thanks for any info!

that's actually why I'm asking - to see if it does make a difference. And just to clear up your confusion, I'm asking if, when a bartender puts a drink in front of me as I'm playing video poker at the bar, is it ok if I simply place my tip on the bar in front of my drink (which might indicate the tip is for that person), or is it more customary to place the tip in the tip jar sitting on the bar (which I assume is divided between all workers)?

Hello and welcome to the AskGamblers forum. :)

Although I do understand what you are asking, I am afraid I cannot give you the correct answer as most of us here are actually dedicated to the online form of gambling and only a few of us had the chance to enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the US casinos and those in Las Vegas in particular. Still hope that some of our US members will jump in with an advice though. ;)

Meanwhile, what I would recommend is to give the tip personally, especially if the bartender is a beautiful, redhead hottie. :D

Oooohhh okay! Well is there really a right answer to that? I personally have absolutely no idea but surely it would be down to preference and if you think the bartender done a great job why not tip them personally as opposed to them having that top between their colleagues!

Let us know if you find the right answer though, you've got me intrigued now!
