Netent Stops Providing Their Older Games

Recommended Posts

I just received some interesting news about Netent's decision to stop offering the following games claiming they are now substandard:

Zodiac
Fortuna
Pirate's Gold
Caribbean Stud
Magic Love
Beetle Frenzy
Safari Madness
Mystery Mansion
Hot City

So if there are some of your favourites here, you won't be able to play them any longer :/

New policy? Thanks RodeoPoker for bringing this to our attention.

It means that NetEnt is completely disabling these games even in casinos that have them in game portfolio.. or it just means that operators can't purchase them anymore?

Thanks for sharing mate. :good:

However, I'm afraid that's just the beginning and soon there will be more games stopped by NetEnt. In addition to the games you have already mentioned above, the following games will no longer be available effective July 28th:

The Lost Pyramid

Treasure Hunt

Bubbles

Shoot 4 Gold

Hall Of Fame

Marbles

Max Win

Tribble

In addition, what I heard is that there will be even more slots which will not be available to UK players... :( Sincerely hope that is just a rumor, but...

A curious word "Substandard" lol I would like to hear the elaboration on that you would think that the customer

would dictate which software would be canceled out though in this case it sounds more like the decision is based

on another factor by Substandard I wonder if they mean ... Exploitable ? or flawed ? hmm .

Nothing on that list that troubles me but it wouldn't surprise me if Dead or Alive is going to be one of the next on the casualty list - afterall it really just does not fit in with their current model of low variance games with impossible to hit jackpots does it!! I pray to god I'm wrong about this, but I genuinely would not be surprised.

Hmmm...that would mean removing a game that is bringing in HUGE revenues to NetEnt!

I would think this would be a very UNWISE decision for NetEnt to make!

And personally, I don't think it matters at all what Variance category Dead Or Alive falls into.

It's like discarding the beetle car Volkswagon...or the Mini Cooper...no can do! :D

I agree with you on that one. There is no way NetEnt would ever remove DOA. If there is a game that had so much free publicity, then its DOA with all them screenshots filling up each forum. Let's face it, winning one of the larger jackpots is pretty much a utopia. That leaves us with slots with large payouts and DOA fits that profile, and that's why it's so loved and hated due to its high variance nature.

I believe removing the aforementioned games from the NetEnt's game portfolio is based on the following reasons:

- NetEnt does not consider worthy offering and maintaining games which are not popular and played by most of their customers;

- NetEnt is paying some serious money for licences for these games.

Dead Or Alive is totally different story in my opinion... DOA is no longer just an ordinary casino game, it has now became a real legend, call it one of the industry trademarks if you wish! I even dare to say that DOA, although it's just a single video slots, is more popular than most of the small size gaming software providers combined.

In other words, I believe DOA would be the last game ever which NetEnt will shut down...

I will compare these games to see whether the substandard was referring to the volatility being too high or if this is something else.

On the downside it is proven that most players keep playing after their first deposit if they have a break even first session. Which probably a low volatility game provides most times.

Huge wins and fast loses either get a player to withdraw the big win and not push his luck or he has a bad experience with losing too much too fast only to quit.
