Self exclusion due to gambling problem

Recommended Posts

I have requested to ban myself from  playing at casino Redkings (Skillonnet) on the 17/05 2014 due to gambling problem.

Now, i opened an account that turns our is their sister casino under the same liscence Vegaswinner casino. They closed it immidiatly and telling me since i have requested a ban due to gambling problem. But i could reopen it if i told them that i was in controll and whatever. (Ofcourse im going to lie because I DO HAVE A GAMBLING PROBLEM.

I have since then in an outragously bad run lost 6000 NOK.

I just happend to notice all these casinos i have been playing at and losing ALLOT on since that day are all under the same liscence. Why do they allow me to play? All other casinos i have told i have a gambling problem has locked my account and told me i was never, ever allowed to play there again. This is what i expect when i chose to close my account stating that i have gambling problems.

I realise now im an addict and i would do anything to reopen accounts, but every casino i have tried this at refused to reopen.

All but the skillonet casinos.

I have now requested my deposits refunded. As i understand they are not allowed to let me play? Am i correct? Can i claim i want my money back?

Thing is i really, badley want to quit but i cannot help myself and i feel they have taken advantage of this. I know its my choice to play or not, but when i ask them to ban me i expect them to uphold this even when i come begging. Because im an addict i addmit i dont even know what casinos i have closed or not, so i just keep looking and trying to reopen locked accounts.

Dont get me wrong, me trying to get my money back is just something i read about now today. That they have to refund. Im not trying to scam the casino in any way. I just want my money back and myself banned forever from all their casinos.

In fact i never want to play anywhere anymore, but i cannot help myself. Right now the past month i have lost so much money its insane.. Im basicly in trouble because of this... I feel like i work my job just to pay my debts. Sometimes i even feel like i want to commit suecide. Offcourse im not going to do this but this is the way gambling has made me.

And to be honest i am desperate... I feel like if i stand any chance at getting some of my lossses back i dont care if im acting in a morally shady way, because i feel like they have also acted without moral when they take advantage of people with gambling problems.

Advice?

If im not allowed to post links then mods please remove.

One person losing 3k  Euros even tough she was self excluded: http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67426&page=4

Another person winning 1600Euros and they refuse to pay, but refund depoist. Due to self exclusion on sister site: http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67456&page=2

This is shady buisnis practise to say the least...

Betsson actually banned me after i closed my casinoeuro account due to gambling problem.. I wassent even aware that they where related. But they sent me a mail saying i was permanentley banned because of this.. And thats how it should work.

Hi luckyloser,

First of all, I'm really really sorry to hear about your serious gambling problems and sincerely hope you gonna overcome and solve them soon.

Since you were asking about an advice, I will afford to give some. Hope you don't mind and will at least consider some or all of them.

1/ Before doing anything else, please take 5 minutes and read carefully this guide - SOS, I am addicted to gambling - what to do?

It's not a remedy, but it could be quite an useful reading to determine how far your problem gambling did go and decide what you should do from now on in order to cope with this serious disease. Do not underestimate this whole situation, but also try to 'gather yourself' an avoid any dramatic actions.

2/ Fighting casinos whom you accuse of not acting responsibly towards your gambling problems is definitely not something which could help you overcome your issue. The more you talk and read and deal with online casinos. the worse the eager to play will be and it won't be an easy task to stop gambling. But, if you are determine to fight for what you believe was unfair treatment on behalf the aforementioned casino brand/s, then I recommend you reading and checking the following sources:

1/ List of all casinos licensed and operating under the SkillOnNet license - https://www.authorisation.mga.org.mt/verification.aspx?lang=en&company=c17b577e-3a83-4c7d-87c6-2adb8933aeec

2/ Screenshot of the self exclusion policy for VegasWinner casino - http://prntscr.com/7cxpij

3/ MGA Responsible Gaming policy - http://www.mga.org.mt/responsible-gaming/

Whatever difficulties you are going through right now, do not forget that you have forum mates here who would be glad to give you a helping hand. Stay strong! :good:

Yes, understand that its best for me to stay away. Thanks for the links and advice.

But do you honestly think i stand a chance at getting anything back?

As i can see the same group confiscated the winnings of a player and returned his deposit due to the same reason.

If this is allowd then how can they keep my deposits?? So the casino can win in any situation they see fit?

If I was in your shoes right now and especially considering how serious is your issue with the problem gambling, I would most probably say the F word to all possible casino related stuff / yes, including this and all other gambling forums / and try to fight my illness as much as possible, as soon as possible!

Regarding your self exclusion... To be able to help better I need to know when exactly have you requested to be self excluded from Red Kings Casino; for what period; and when you register and play in another casino operating under the same license.

Hey luckyloser,

This thread made me think of this other thread you started:http://www.askgamblers.com/forum/topic/4828-betsafe-closed-my-account/?do=findComment&comment=58881

I can't help but notice some similarities.

There's also some similarities in both these stories with a scammer I remember that got banned from Casinomeister for a scam that involved very similar situations.

This person would purposely play at sister sites of casinos they were excluded from for having a gambling problem.

They would do this on purpose so if they won and didn't get paid the winnings, they could argue that the site shouldn't have let them play in the first place because they were excluded from the sister site, and should either pay the winnings or refund the deposits.

This scam meant that the player could never lose, as they would argue they shouldn't have been allowed to play there in the first place, and demand either the winnings or refund.

I remember you saying you were a member at CM once also.

I'm sorry, but it's very hard to ignore all the similarities.

I sincerely hope you get help for your gambling problem, but I also sincerely hope these are all just uncanny similarities and you are not trying to take advantage of the casinos or the friendly members here that offer to help like ValDes.

So you are accusing me of trying to scam the casino?? The other thread was my girlfriend... Im sure casinos can check gameplay and such... She doessent even play the same games as i do. If they belived it was my account they never, ever would have paid.

Im sure you would be pretty angry/frustrated aswell if you excluded for a gambling problem and then they allow you to deposit. They have since denied my request to be refunded and thats ok i accept it. I just want to move on. But i requested they permanentley block me from EVERY casino they own. But the manager didd not respond. I also asked them what would have happened if i won? Then what? Would they deny my winnings aswell? Like they didd with the person in the casinomeister thread?

I kida feel like you are crossing the line tough when you accuse me of this. If you want to know and i have no problem with this my username in casinomeister has been: Whodatrec.

As you can now see this person you are talking about is not me.

As to my gambling problem. I have realised its very hard for me to quitt gambling all together.. Have been trying for years on end. I have come to the conclusion that if i have to gamble its better i leave one account open with a strickt deposit limit that i can afford.

I have since excluded myself from all casinos but one. Stating i want to close my account forever due to a gambling problem. All casinos seams to take this very serious and never allowed me to reopen these accounts.

All but Skill on net. This is why i also made this thread, because i cannot understand how they can operate like this. If someone states they have a gambling problem that is not going to change. Its like a drug addict, he will always be an addict.

I also think that casinos should have an obligatory method of players setting deposit limits before first deposit. Because my heavy losses always comes from "the fog of war" sort of speaking. When i start to lose and get frustrated i cannot help myself. I alsway start out making the decition to play for a less amount. So if i set a deposit liit beforehand i cannot lose like this.

Hmm, this is getting interesting...

Check this complaint - http://www.askgamblers.com/casino-complaints/i-don-t-understand-why-my-previous-complaint-was-refused

Submitter claims that Mega Casino confiscated his winnings and returned the deposit due to a previous self-exclusion agreement with another brand operating under the same license as Mega Casino...

Now, I don't know what would have happened if the player had lost, but hove some reasonable doubts that he was about to be refunded due to the facts stated above. Some people /mostly casino representative/ are seeing such situation as a Win Win for player, but maybe this is not the case after all and in fact it appears to be a Lose Lose situation...Which is definitely not fair in my humble opinion.

Luckyloser, I think you could submit a complaint with us or go directly with MGA. If you were under an active self-exclusion agreement with any of the casino operating under one and the same license and you were allowed to register, deposit and play within the same network of casinos at the same time, I think you are owed a refund for all deposits made during this period.

Luckyloser I actually didn't accuse you of anything, and was only sharing my thoughts on the many obvious similarities.

I apologize if you were offended, but I make no apologies for sharing my thoughts and raising these suspicions, as this type of scam has become very popular.

A few things that made me raise some questions, is you are obviously aware that you have a big gambling problem, yet you didn't come to this forum asking for help regarding your problem, rather you came here asking for help to reclaim your deposits/winnings. What happens if ValDes helps you reclaim these? Will you bank the funds and seek help? Or will you just lose the funds some where else?

I personally think you should be 100% focused on getting help for now, and once fit again, then you can look into perhaps reclaiming funds you think were taken unethically. You will then be in a much clearer frame of mind to reassess the situation, and if eligible for any funds, better prepared to use those funds wisely.

At this point in time, trying to recoup any lost funds should be the least of your concerns, however it seems like your only concern.

You also raised the previous self exclusion issue regarding Betsafe and whether this was really your girlfriend or not, it shows that you were well aware of this 'sister site' issue, so I am amazed that after that issue, you now wouldn't be hyper vigilante in asking a casino if they have sister site exclusion terms every time you join a new casino.

I personally have had some issues regarding terms in the past with casinos, so there is no way in ***** I would ever join another casino unless I make sure these same terms don't exist or are at least well explained, so I don't get burnt again.

I'm not saying you are a scammer or a liar, but then again I don't know you from a bar of soap. I just find it astounding that you now wouldn't check these things after the Betsafe issue, which leads me to believe you knew what you were doing.

Only an idiot would get stung twice by the same issue in such a short period of time, and judging by the way you articulate yourself on this forum, you don't at all come across like an idiot, or someone who doesn't think before acting.

As for the issue at hand, and others like this, this is my opinion:

I think casinos have a responsibility to clearer and visibly state this rule in their terms, and players have a responsibility to check for it.

I also believe some safeguards have to be established to protect good casinos from what I believe is a growing trend regarding scammers using this 'loophole' as a win/win situation to either be paid any winnings, or refunded any loses.

I don't know how this could be implemented, but until something is done, I'm afraid we will continue to see these cases become much more prevalent.

Luckyloser, from the information I see here on this forum, you dodged a bullet and got lucky regarding the Betsafe issue, then ignored the chance of this happening again elsewhere. For me this is suspicious, yet I accept that this is only my opinion, and of course you won't like it ;).

For these reasons I think you shouldn't be refunded your losses, and if you are serious about seeking help for your gambling problem, should instead accept it as a lesson learnt and use it as motivation to seek the help you need, which I'm sure many members here are more than happy to help you get, including myself.

PS. I do remember you from CM, and also remember that you had a major issue with gambling and losses back then. You need to seriously seek help and stop gambling all together instead of chasing your losses.

I mean this in a serious, blunt, and empathetic way, as only once you seek real help, will you see things differently, and realize that all that matters is your own health and well-being.

If we as a group help you in any other way, we are all just acting as enablers.

I won't comment any further, but sincerely hope you seek the 'real' help you obviously need.

Good luck.

The amount of money in question does not change a single ting to me. The whole point is why are they allowed to behave like this. Why can the casinos do whatever they please. While as yourself say; some players scams the casino... Well how can they scam the casino?

If i wanted to scam them do you think i would do so fore an amount of 6000NOK or ruffley 679 euros.. This amount is peanuts to what i have played and lost at other sites. To compare, my paycheck each month after taxes are about 2829 euros. Why would i try to scam them for such a low amount?

And to be honest even tough you are polite in your post i find the undertones of your post to be insulting to me. The way you insinuate that the other thread was no my girlfriend but me. What have i to lose from coming public about that now? No that was my girlfriend and im sure betsafes investigation has led them to belive so also. Also all her deposits where made from her Visa card.. Why am i even explaining this to you?

I can sorta see why you got banned from casinomeister, because your posting style can be really provoking. What do you gain by accusing me of anything?

As i said in the above post i do not care about the 6000 NOK, i care more about what if this amount was higher? What if i won lets say 50 000 NOK and they denied my payout? What about other people that this has happened to? Also as i stated above i closed my casino euro account and then after i got a mail from betsson saying they closed that account aswell due to gambling problem. THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD WORK!.

Even if i have a gambling problem i expect to be threated fairly from the casinos. And yes im still active in this forum, but only in this thread and i also are haveing some private messages with other members that also have gambling issues. And its good to talk to someone who can understand.

Regarding your self exclusion... To be able to help better I need to know when exactly have you requested to be self excluded from Red Kings Casino; for what period; and when you register and play in another casino operating under the same license.

20.6.7 Our Player Limitation options involve a joint commitment from Us and you. According to our policy of protecting those with gambling/spending issues We will take reasonable steps to prevent you re-opening your Account or opening new Accounts. However, during the period of your exclusion, you must not attempt to re-open your account or to try and open new Accounts.

1.32.3.29.3  Self-exclusion - Should you need to take a break from gambling, we provide a self-exclusion facility which can be activated by the customer within 'My Account' or by contacting Support. Self-exclusion means that your account will remain closed for a minimum period of 7 days to a maximum period of 1 yearand will not be reactivated under any circumstances during the exclusion period. This is the major difference to a standard account closure request. Should you wish to activate permanent self-exclusion you may do so by contacting Support at[email protected] stating your reasons and you will be permanently blocked with immediate effect.

- We also allow customers to block access to individual products by contacting Support. If you are considering self-exclusion, please remember to contact all gambling companies with whom you have accounts and ask to self-exclude with them too.

- We will use our reasonable endeavours to ensure compliance with your self-exclusion. However you accept that we have no responsibility or liability whatsoever if you continue gambling and/or seek to use the Website and we fail to recognise or determine that. It's clear that it's his responsibility to tell it to the other casino company?

Luckyloser you don't have to explain anything to me. ;)

Please remember this is a public forum designed for members to offer their thoughts and opinions on any topics posted.

You chose to post this issue publicly to seek opinion, and this is what I offered.

If you choose to post an issue publicly for debate, please be prepared to accept that other members may have a different opinion or view of things than you do.

Accept the good with the bad, and then decide what you wish to listen to.

Again, I didn't accuse you of anything, and merely stated my thoughts based on the evidence you were supplying.

Good luck.

PS. I didn't get banned from Casinomeister, I chose to leave and have my account closed of my own free will.

And I can accept your insults, as it's just your opinion. ;)

The casino is not denying this. But they let me reopen an account when i had asked to be permanentley excluded. As for the accounts that i am excluded from they are still closed but i was under the impression i was able to open them again aswell. As you can see from my mail i stated i wanted to permanently ban myself. That means forever.

The problem is they have multiple casinos under the same license. This is my whole case.. When i self exclude this means across their whole license... They used the same reason to not pay winnings to a player... This is my point.

Now lets just leave it at that. I dont want to argue with anyone here.

@luckyloser,

Your complaint has just been published.

I am really curious to see how these SkillOnNet casinos are about to handle these two complaints cases...
