Double or Nothing feature

Recommended Posts

Many sofware providers offer this option for certain slot games.I rarely used it and if I did it was on my minor wins. I was close to use that feature even when I win something bigger but I find it too risky even thought it would be terrific to double your win, once or several time. What is your experience and do you use this feature and how often?

Great idea to start a topic dedicated to doubling, Lilian! :good:

To be honest, I am not the biggest fan of this feature and rarely use it. In fact last time I recall using it was while playing Break Da Bank Again... I had a terrible session at Wild Jackpots, lost probably over $300 playing with bets in the region of 0.45 and 0.90 and when finally hit a bonus round higher than 20x bet I was so pissed off that start doubling it...And I was actually winning, but then the my greediness prevailed again over my common sense and lost it all at the forth round... :(

Back in the time when I was playing a lot video poker though, using double feature was part of almost any round and must admit it was a great way to keep my balance last longer. ;)

To be honest with you, I never used this feature, even if i did, it was only once but I cant remember what was the game nor bet, but it would be small bet, definitely.

I am not surprise that Guru used it as I know that he use to put a lot of money into gambling.

As soon as my bankroll allow me, I will use it, but when it is going to happen, I have no clue.

I've never been a fan of the double up feature especially when playing online. I find that this feature favours the house too much. Instead of the proverbial 50/50 HE (House Edge) we're looking at 70/30 maybe more.

I have tried it in land-based casinos since I'm an avid video poker player. The odds are way better, 50/50.

Wow,thanks for sharing this with us,as I wasnt much interested in Double or Nothing feature I am not familiar with TCs, now after I heard this,I think I will never use it .

I recently payed a game with a "double-up feature" that was very interesting. I do not remember now the slot name but I can tell that the chances to win were 70/30 not 50/50 as for all "classic" double-up features. Very interesting indeed.

Double up feature have zero house edge. Or something like 2%, but unlikely. 70/30? If so - any software can be blacklisted for this after just some research(for example someone like Valdes will play 1000 rounds, if there is 70/30 - it is serious proof that it is cheating from software. So  i think 70/30 numbers is just based on personal feelings and observations, not facts of course.

Thank you Valdes,I am glad that you like this topic idea.

I agree with you on this for video poker.  I also used this option in almost each round, but rarely used while playing slots

I have no doubts that this is not correct and I think that is house edge in online casinos is way lower than in land based casinos.

I don't like this feature, I've tried it in many slots, but have actually doubled my winnings only few times. But I can agree with VaIDes, when I play Video Poker, if my bets are low, I almost always use Gamble option. So in my case the Double feature works better in pokerm not in slots, so in slots I am staying away from it.

Strictly speaking yes but unfortunately this is not always the case.

When I play video poker at a land-casino I use the double up feature but have not been very lucky with it when I play online.

Speaking about double up feature and how it could and should /or I'd better say should not/ influence house edge, I will suggest you to read this post from ThePogg website. Due to the investigation and findings stated there we blacklisted all casinos using Amigotechs software and which are currently presented at AskGamblers.

In short, 70/30 odds from the double feature are extremely unlikely to occur, but still a possible scenario in my humble opinion. Generally, these odds should be 50/50.

Yes, I heard about this already, that's awful.

I am not a big fan of this feature , although i did try it on many occasions. And in those many occasions i tried it with some smaller wins. Honestly i am just trying to avoid it as much as possible but sometimes it can be tempting , knowing that you can double a huge win , it's simply a gamble that can be rewarding or disappointing.

Also i do agree that in rare cases the odds can be 70/30 , but mostly they are 50/50, like it really should be.

Oh no, you misunderstood me. That feature was especially made to give70/30 chances to win, it was played on a wheel where from 10 numbers 7 were winning, just that it was not "doubling" the money, but giving instead 30% extra if you were winning.

I have to agree with most of our other members here, I am not a fan of the double or nothing feature. And I NEVER use it on a big win and I know I never ever would. It just doesn't appeal to me whatsoever. I have used it in the past on smaller wins, just to try it really if I'm feeling lucky but haven't used it in a long long time.

Any times that I have used I have always lost anyway...and to be honest this is one of the reasons why it's never appealed to me.
