Cirrus Casino - Witholding winnings

UNRESOLVED
posted on October 30, 2012.

Dear Ask Gamblers,

I recently registered with Cirrus Pound because they had a £100 bonus available (£2000) playthrough. I duly went on and played jacks or better poker and successfully stayed ahead beyond the playthrough point. In order to test their system, as much as anything else, I requested a withdrawal of £80 by cheque. I have since had requests for copies of ID and proof of address, items which I have never been required to give with any other online site. They claim they cannot pay until they see these. I am not risking my identity being stolen by such a dubious entry but I DO feel I am entitled to my money. How this organisation can do business, i Have no idea, especially with competitors paying out within days.

Can u help?

Dear Player:

As per Casino Rules: http://www.cirruscasino.co.uk/rules.php

Before a cash-out (i.e., withdrawal of winnings) can be processed, the Player must provide photo ID and proof of address for the purpose of verification. The Casino reserves the right to request additional information in order to validate accounts.

If you do not provide info above to cash-out then casino cannot process any payment generated from the free chip received.

Dear AskGamblers:

Unfortunately and as per casino Rules; players must send documentation before cashing-out. Also we would like to clarify Player is requesting winnings on a Free Chip and not from a deposit.

there is no relevance in whether it is a free chip or a deposit. I am entitled to my winnings - end of story and I AM NOT sending copies of my ID. Totally unnecessary and a clear scam to avoid paying out.

Thank goodness for decent on-line sites like Sky, Ladbrokes, Coral etc

PS It can not be a coincidence that you are listed as a site not to be involved with!

Dear Player:

We just want to make clear casino is not keeping any deposit money. Also, Cirrus Casino never mentioned that they won't pay; casino is more than willing to pay your winnings once you follow their cash-out requirement which is having documents on file as explained before. This information is required as proof of identity and it is for your security as well as for the casino. Until then; no payment will be sent.

Hey, guys, Forget it! If my £80 is so important to you - just keep it. Worst gaming experience ever. I would fully understand the REQUEST for ID up front (not that I would have supplied you anyway) but to wait until the payout stage before asking is WRONG. Thieves.

Dear Nmcoolm10:

As mentioned before; you will receiving your winnings as soon as proper identification is provided.

We kindly suggest to read our casino Rules: http://www.cirruscasino.co.uk/rules.php

By reading rules before opening an account and playing misunderstandings like this will be avoided. "Before a cash-out (i.e., withdrawal of winnings) can be processed, the Player must provide photo ID and proof of address for the purpose of verification. The Casino reserves the right to request additional information in order to validate accounts."

Cirrus Casino UK is not requesting nothing else but what is clearly specified is required to process a cash-out, on their casino rules.

 Is this problem solved?

Dear AskGamblers:

We request case to be closed as solved. Casino never refused to pay; but player needs to do his part and send documentation in order for payment to be processed.
